Supernatural is preparing for a return as an independent VR fitness platform, but the move comes with a steep cost for users. The service, now set to operate outside Meta’s direct control through a new company called Supernatural Health, will raise its subscription fees sharply when it relaunches.
For long-time Meta Quest users, the most immediate relief is that the app is not disappearing after Meta’s recent budget cuts and studio closures shook the VR fitness community. Instead, Supernatural Health is taking over the service and planning a relaunch for Meta Quest in the fall of 2026.
Subscription prices are set to double
The biggest change for subscribers is the price increase. The annual plan will rise from $100 to $180 per year, while the monthly plan will jump from $10 to $20.
That doubling in cost is likely to draw attention from users who have relied on Supernatural as one of the more popular VR workout services. The relaunch may keep the brand alive, but it also changes the value equation for anyone deciding whether to stay subscribed.
Favorite trainers are returning
One of the most reassuring details for existing members is that the full lineup of favorite trainers is expected to come back. Their return should help preserve the familiar feel of the workouts and make the transition to the new ownership smoother.
At the same time, the older version of the app that remains inside Meta’s ecosystem will still be available for now. It will no longer receive new songs or workout menus, however, which means the experience will gradually stop evolving even before shutdown.
The old version has a fixed end date
Supernatural’s legacy app will be permanently discontinued on 3 December 2026. Users are being told to move their account data to the new Supernatural Health app before that deadline arrives.
The shift leaves subscribers with a clear choice: stay with the relaunched version and accept the higher fees, or remain on the old app until support ends. Either way, the service’s future is changing quickly after Meta’s restructuring.
What comes next for the brand
Supernatural’s independent status also raises the question of whether it will expand beyond Meta Quest. That possibility has not been confirmed, but it could open the door to a wider VR audience if it happens.
Meanwhile, Meta is still developing its own hardware plans for VR. Internal documents that leaked earlier indicated that work is continuing on the next standalone headset, reportedly called Meta Quest 4, with a major jump in visual performance and a much higher price when it eventually launches.
