Moto G Max Pushes Boundaries, 200 MP Camera and 5,000 Nits Display in a Rugged Frame

Motorola’s Moto G Max arrives with an unusual pitch for the midrange premium segment: high-end visibility, serious durability, and a 200 MP main camera in one package. It is priced at BRL 2,519, or around Rp8.8 million in Brazil, and is aimed at buyers who want more than the usual balance of specs.

The device stands out because its feature mix is not built around one headline alone. Instead, Motorola combines a bright AMOLED screen, military-grade protection, large memory options, and a 5,200 mAh battery to make the Moto G Max look more rugged and more complete than many rivals at the same level.

Display built for harsh light

One of the most striking parts of the phone is its 6.8-inch AMOLED display. The panel uses a 1.5K resolution, or 1272 x 2772 pixels, which gives it a sharp appearance for everyday viewing and media use.

Motorola says the screen can reach a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, a level that should help visibility under strong sunlight. It also supports an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and comes protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Durability takes a leading role

The Moto G Max is not positioned as a standard midrange model. It carries MIL-STD-810H certification along with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, making it resistant to dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets.

That combination gives the phone a durability profile that is uncommon in this segment. Motorola is clearly targeting users who need a device that can handle tougher conditions without giving up the premium feel of a large AMOLED screen.

200 MP camera with OIS

Photography is another major selling point, led by a 200 megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization. The OIS support is meant to help keep shots steadier, especially when light is low or when the user is moving.

Around that main sensor, Motorola adds an 8 megapixel ultra-wide camera on the rear. On the front, the phone uses a 32 megapixel selfie camera that can record video at up to 2K resolution.

Performance and battery sit below the headline features

Despite the premium-looking feature set, the Moto G Max runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset. Motorola pairs it with 8 GB of RAM, expandable to 16 GB, and 256 GB of internal storage.

That hardware keeps the phone in the premium midrange category, even if some competitors in the same price band already use faster chips. The battery is a 5,200 mAh unit with 33W TurboPower charging, and Motorola says it can last up to 35 hours.

The phone also ships with Android 16 from the start, giving buyers the latest software experience at launch. For users who value a bright screen, strong physical protection, a large battery, and a high-resolution main camera, the Moto G Max presents a tightly focused proposition.
