OnePlus has officially shown the first model in its new smartphone series, and the device is the OnePlus N6. The teaser points to a handset that is being positioned for India, while also giving an early look at the colors and design direction.
The most immediate takeaway is the shift in styling. OnePlus N6 uses a square rear camera module, a design cue that feels close to the Nord CE6, while the body is shown in black and green finishes.
A familiar shape, but a different target
The front design is also visible in the teaser, and it suggests a flat display. OnePlus has not opened up the technical sheet yet, so the design images are now doing most of the talking for the new lineup.
That matters because the company is tying the series to a specific audience. OnePlus India says the line is designed for “India’s young and neo generation,” although there is still no official confirmation that the N series will stay exclusive to India.
Launch timing and pricing clues
OnePlus has confirmed that the N6 will debut on 30 June at 12.00 local time in India. The company has not revealed the price or specifications, but earlier leaks suggest the new N series could be aimed at the affordable end of the market.
Those leaks point to some models being priced below INR 20,000, which is about $211. If that positioning holds, the N6 could become the opening move in a more budget-friendly OnePlus lineup.
Part of a wider OnePlus push
The timing also comes alongside activity in another market. OnePlus recently launched the more affordable Turbo 6X series in China, which includes the standard Turbo 6X and the Turbo 6X Pro.
For now, the N6 is the clearest sign of how OnePlus wants this new family to look and feel before the full details arrive. The launch on 30 June should fill in the missing pieces on hardware, pricing, and the company’s longer-term plans for the N series.
