Lenovo is positioning the Tab Plus Gen 2 as a tablet built first for entertainment. The device stands out immediately because it combines a 10,200 mAh battery with a JBL speaker system that is far more ambitious than what is usually found on a midrange Android tablet.
That direction is reinforced by a larger 12.1-inch display and hardware tuned for movies, music, and gaming. Rather than trying to compete only on general tablet specifications, Lenovo is clearly leaning into the multimedia side of the category.
Audio is the main attraction
The biggest talking point is the nine-speaker JBL Pro setup. Lenovo equips the Tab Plus Gen 2 with four tweeters, three woofers, and two passive radiators to strengthen bass and widen the sound experience.
Lenovo describes the system as a Cinematic Audio System. It is designed to create a theater-like listening experience when users watch films, play games, or stream music.
Dolby Atmos support is included as well, adding another layer to the tablet’s entertainment-focused identity. The device can also function as a Bluetooth speaker, allowing a phone to connect and play audio through the tablet’s built-in speakers.
A larger screen for streaming and gaming
Lenovo has also expanded the display from the first-generation model. The Tab Plus Gen 2 now uses a 12.1-inch LCD panel, up from 11.5 inches on the previous version.
The screen carries a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel resolution, or 2.5K, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Dolby Vision and HDR10 support are also on board, while peak brightness reaches 800 nits in High Brightness Mode.
These specifications make the tablet more suitable for users who spend more time on video playback and other moving content. The larger panel and smoother refresh rate help reinforce the product’s entertainment-first positioning.
Performance, memory, and software
Under the hood, the Tab Plus Gen 2 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset. That marks an upgrade over the previous model, which used the MediaTek Helio G99.
Lenovo offers the tablet with 6 GB, 8 GB, or 12 GB of RAM, alongside 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. A microSD slot is also included, with expansion support up to 2 TB.
The tablet ships with Android 16. Lenovo says it will receive two major Android updates through Android 18, as well as security updates until 2030.
That long support window could matter for buyers who want to keep a tablet for several years. In a market where update commitments vary widely, Lenovo is using software support as part of the product’s value proposition.
Battery life and design details
The 10,200 mAh battery is another major selling point. Lenovo says the tablet can play YouTube videos for up to 15 hours on a single charge.
When it is time to recharge, the device supports 45W fast charging. Lenovo also includes an integrated kickstand on the back, and the stand can rotate 360 degrees for flexible viewing angles.
That kickstand should be useful for watching videos, making video calls, or reading documents without needing a separate accessory. It adds a practical touch to a device that is clearly built around media consumption.
Price and availability
The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 comes in Celestial White and starts at US$400, or around Rp 7.1 million. Lenovo has not yet announced its launch schedule or official pricing for Indonesia.
If it does arrive locally, the tablet will enter a market filled with other large-screen Android models. Its differentiator, however, is unusually clear: nine JBL Pro speakers, Dolby Atmos, a 12.1-inch 2.5K 120 Hz display, and a battery designed for long viewing sessions.
