Meizu Watch M1 Brings AMOLED and Calling Features Back at a Very Low Price

Meizu has returned to the smartwatch market after about five years without a new wearable, and it has chosen a sharply competitive entry point. The new Meizu Watch M1 arrives with an AMOLED display and Bluetooth Calling at a price of 299 Yuan, or around Rp650 ribuan.

That combination places the device in an unusual position for its class. Features that are often associated with mid-range smartwatches are now being offered on a more affordable model aimed at everyday users.

Display and connectivity that stand out

The Watch M1 uses a 2.01-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 410 x 502 pixels. Meizu says the screen can reach a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, which should help visibility outdoors.

The display is protected by 2.5D glass and supports full touch operation. In practical use, that gives the watch a familiar interface for checking notifications, navigating menus, and handling watch functions directly from the wrist.

Bluetooth Calling is one of the device’s main selling points. Users can answer and place calls directly from the watch, which adds convenience for daily communication.

Meizu also includes music playback support, while dual Bluetooth connectivity is designed to keep the connection stable when paired with a smartphone. Those additions make the Watch M1 more than a simple fitness tracker.

Health and fitness tools built for daily use

Beyond communication features, Meizu has equipped the Watch M1 with hardware for health tracking. It comes with a VC30F-SG heart rate sensor and an SC7A20H motion sensor to support activity monitoring.

The watch supports more than 100 sports modes, including walking, mountain climbing, indoor fitness training, and other activities. That wide range gives it a broader fitness profile than many other watches in the same price tier.

Health functions include real-time heart rate monitoring, sleep quality analysis, calorie counting, sedentary reminders, water reminders, and women’s health tracking. Meizu positions these tools as part of an all-day companion for work, exercise, and general wellness.

Design, durability, and battery life

In terms of design, the Watch M1 comes in a square shape with a curved front glass for a more modern look. The metal-textured frame and silver body are paired with a red-accented crown, giving the device a more premium appearance than its price suggests.

The watch uses a black silicone strap with perforated detailing for comfort during extended wear. Meizu has also given it an IP68 rating, which means it is protected against dust and splashes of water for everyday use.

Power comes from a 300mAh battery. Meizu claims the watch can last three to five days in normal use and up to 15 days in standby mode.

Charging is handled through a magnetic system, and a full charge is said to take around two hours. That battery setup is likely to appeal to users who want a smartwatch without frequent charging interruptions.

Availability remains limited for now

The Meizu Watch M1 is currently being sold in China, with the official price set at 299 Yuan. At this stage, availability is limited to the domestic market, and Meizu has not announced a global rollout, including for Indonesia.

With its AMOLED screen, Bluetooth Calling, more than 100 sports modes, and long battery claims, the Watch M1 gives Meizu a credible return to the wearable segment. For buyers looking at affordable smartwatches, it lands as a feature-rich option in a very competitive price band.
