Google’s next Pixel flagship is drawing attention for a design shift that appears more restrained and more polished. Early render leaks from accessory maker ThinBorne suggest the Pixel 11 Pro XL may move away from the thick horizontal camera bar and toward a slimmer module that blends more cleanly into the body.
The change matters because the rear camera design has long been one of the most recognizable parts of the Pixel line. On the Pixel 11 Pro XL, the camera block is said to take a rounded-rectangle shape, creating a softer look and a more stable feel when the phone is placed on a table.
A thinner camera module changes the Pixel’s identity
The most visible update in the leak is the reduced camera profile at the back. Instead of emphasizing a bulky bar, Google is reportedly aiming for a minimalist layout that feels more integrated with the rest of the phone.
That direction could appeal to users who prefer a cleaner premium look. It also gives the device a more balanced silhouette, especially compared with older Pixel models that made the camera bar a defining design statement.
Tensor G6 and a bigger push for AI
On the performance side, the Pixel 11 Pro XL is rumored to use the Google Tensor G6 chip. The chip is said to be made by TSMC using a 2-nanometer process, a move that is expected to improve both performance and power efficiency.
As with earlier Tensor generations, the focus remains heavily on on-device AI processing. Integration with Google Gemini is also expected to work faster without relying entirely on an internet connection.
Security and connectivity upgrades are also in the pipeline
Another notable rumor concerns security. Google is said to be preparing Face Unlock with an infrared sensor placed under the display to improve facial recognition accuracy.
The system is reported to work better in low light and to offer a level of security comparable to Face ID on Apple devices. For connectivity, Google is also said to be shifting to the MediaTek M90 modem to address complaints about signal quality in previous generations.
The new modem is expected to support direct satellite connectivity and deliver more stable 5G service. If accurate, that could make everyday communication feel more consistent.
Big-screen flagship hardware remains part of the package
Other leaked specifications place the Pixel 11 Pro XL firmly in flagship territory. The device is said to feature a 6.82-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED display with up to a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,000 nits.
For photography, the main camera is expected to use a 50 MP sensor with improvements over the current setup. The telephoto camera is rumored to carry a 48 MP resolution, 5x optical zoom, and digital zoom of up to 100x.
Battery capacity is also said to be larger, with a figure of around 5,200 mAh. Charging support is expected to include 45W wired charging and 25W Qi2 wireless charging.
Still a rumor, but the direction is becoming clearer
All of these details remain unconfirmed, yet they point to a consistent direction. Google appears to be shaping the Pixel 11 Pro XL into a slimmer, more modern device with a stronger emphasis on performance, security, and connectivity.
If the leaks prove accurate, the Pixel 11 Pro XL could become one of Google’s most distinctive flagship phones in 2026. The slimmer camera bar, Tensor G6, infrared Face Unlock, and new modem support give it strong appeal even before an official announcement.
