Robi Darwis has officially ended his four-season spell with Persib Bandung, closing a chapter that began with a promotion from the club’s academy. The separation was reached amicably, giving the midfielder room to pursue the next stage of his career.

The departure has quickly fueled speculation that Arema FC could become his next destination. That possibility has drawn even more attention because Alfeandra Dewangga has also been linked with the Malang club.

A move that Persib says must be respected

PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat Deputy CEO Adhitia Putra Herawan said the club always supports the progress of its players, including those developed through the academy. He described Robi’s decision to seek a new challenge as part of a professional career path that deserves respect.

Persib also made clear that the relationship remains positive despite the parting. The club expects Robi to find greater playing opportunities at his next stop so his development can continue.

From academy prospect to part of a title-winning squad

Robi’s rise began in the 2022/2023 Liga 1 season, when he moved up from Akademi Persib to the senior side. Even as a young player, he immediately caught attention by making 17 appearances in his debut campaign.

His second season brought seven appearances before a loan move to Dewa United during the second half of the 2023/2024 Liga 1 season. That spell added valuable experience to his development.

After returning to Bandung, Robi became part of the squad that won the 2024/2025 Liga 1 title. He played 17 matches that season and contributed to Persib’s championship push.

Contributing during Persib’s successful run

Robi remained involved in the following Super League 2025/2026 campaign, appearing in 15 matches as Persib defended its title. He was also part of the club’s AFC Champions League campaign across the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 periods, where he featured in six matches.

Those numbers underline how the young midfielder became part of one of Persib’s most successful recent periods. He grew from an academy product into a player trusted in the senior squad, both domestically and in Asia.

A farewell message and thanks for four seasons

In his parting message, Robi thanked everyone at Persib and acknowledged the club’s role in shaping his career as a professional footballer. He said he learned a great deal and developed significantly during his time in Bandung.

Robi did not confirm his next club, but he said he is already focused on the challenge ahead. The player, widely known for his long throw-ins, also sent his best wishes to Persib, the players, coaching staff, management, and Bobotoh.

Persib, in return, praised his dedication, hard work, and contribution over the past four seasons. For the club, his exit closes one more familiar chapter as the squad continues to change ahead of the new season.
