Meta’s New Glasses Charger Helps at the Desk, but Compatibility Remains Limited

Meta has expanded its accessories for smart glasses with a new official charging stand priced at $59. The Meta Glasses Charging Stand is designed as a more convenient option for desks and bedside tables, giving users another way to recharge their eyewear without relying on the charging case every time.

The new accessory fits into Meta’s broader charging ecosystem, which already includes a case with a built-in battery. For users who want a cleaner daily setup, the stand offers a dedicated place to leave the glasses charging while they are not being worn.

Simple design, practical daily use

The stand uses a stainless-steel body with a cylindrical shape cut across the middle. Rubber feet sit on the bottom, while the USB-C port is placed at the rear for a tidy layout on a desk or nightstand.

To use it, owners must provide their own USB-C cable and power adapter. Once connected, the glasses are placed into the groove of the stand and begin charging automatically.

Meta also added an LED indicator to the stand. The light turns orange while the glasses are charging and changes to green when the battery is full.

Fast charging, but not for every model

Meta says supported devices can reach 50 percent in 20 minutes, while a full charge takes a little more than one hour. The company also advises users to fold the temples before placing the glasses on the stand, a reminder that positioning still matters for proper charging.

That convenience comes with a limitation. Although it carries Meta’s official branding, the stand does not work with every pair of smart glasses the company sells.

The charging stand is compatible with Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer, Ray-Ban Meta Skyler, Ray-Ban Meta Headliner, Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics, Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics, Oakley Meta HSTN, Meta Fury, Meta Adventurer, and Meta Starfire. Meta Ray-Ban Display and Oakley Meta Vanguard are excluded from the list of supported devices, so buyers still need to check their exact model before ordering.

Meta Glasses Charging Stand is available now through Meta’s website and physical retail stores. For shoppers looking for a cheaper alternative, third-party options such as the Carina S1 are sold on Amazon for $29.99, although compatibility must be checked more carefully.

The arrival of the official stand shows that Meta still sees charging as an important part of the smart glasses experience. For users whose model is supported, the desk charger offers a neater everyday option than depending on the charging case alone.
