Urtopia has introduced the Carbon Atom, an e-bike that aims to balance performance, practicality, and a relatively light build for its class. The model is now available in the United States, where it starts at $2,499 and includes mudguards and a kickstand at no extra cost.

The new model is positioned as a versatile option for daily commuting and more demanding rides. Urtopia has not yet shared any details about a European launch, even though the brand is already familiar in Germany through models such as the Carbon 1 ST.

Power comes first

The Carbon Atom’s headline feature is its drive unit. Urtopia equips the bike with a hub motor rated at 750 watts continuous output, 1,250 watts peak output, and up to 90 Nm of torque.

That setup is paired with a large 802 Wh battery, giving the Carbon Atom the kind of range-focused hardware that should appeal to riders who want more than a basic urban e-bike. Urtopia is clearly aiming this model at buyers who may want to leave smooth city roads behind from time to time.

Built for control and comfort

To support that performance, the bike uses a Shimano Acera 8-speed drivetrain and Tektro hydraulic disc brakes. It also gets an 80 mm suspension fork at the front, while the carbon frame is intended to help reduce vibration.

There is no rear suspension, but Urtopia adds a suspension seatpost to improve comfort over rougher surfaces. The result is a setup that tries to keep weight and complexity in check without giving up too much ride quality.

Design and equipment details

The Carbon Atom rides on 26-inch Kenda tires at both ends and uses a 3.5-inch color LCD display at the cockpit. Lighting is also integrated into the design, with a rear light built into the frame and a front light mounted on the handlebar.

These details give the bike a clean, modern look while keeping the hardware practical for everyday use. Urtopia also says the bike weighs 58 lbs without accessories, which is not especially light, but remains understandable given the motor, battery, and included equipment.

As a package, the Carbon Atom broadens Urtopia’s performance e-bike lineup with a configuration that is easy to understand and focused on utility. For riders in the US looking at a $2,499 e-bike with a strong motor, a large battery, and included commuter-friendly accessories, it is a notable addition to the segment.
