iPhone 17 Pro Max Gets a Surprise Price Cut, Apple’s Top Model Becomes Easier to Reach

Apple’s highest-end iPhone has quietly become more affordable in India, and the discount is large enough to catch the attention of buyers who usually see the Pro Max line stay expensive for longer. On Reliance Digital, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is now listed with a combined benefit of Rs 10,410 for the base variant when buyers use an eligible bank card.

The offer matters because it targets a premium model that rarely gives up much price so soon after launch. For shoppers already considering the Pro Max, the current cut lowers the barrier to entry without changing the phone’s position as one of Apple’s most expensive devices.

Offer Detail Amount Condition
Listed price for iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB Cosmic Orange Rs 1,42,490 Direct price drop from launch
Launch price Rs 1,49,900 Original starting price
Instant bank discount Rs 3,000 SBI, ICICI, or Axis Bank credit cards, non-EMI
Total benefit Rs 10,410 Combined direct and bank discount

For the 256GB Cosmic Orange version, Reliance Digital shows a listed price of Rs 1,42,490. That is already Rs 7,410 below the launch price of Rs 1,49,900, before any card-based reduction is added.

The deal becomes more attractive with an eligible bank card. Buyers using SBI, ICICI, or Axis Bank credit cards can receive an additional Rs 3,000 instant discount on non-EMI purchases, taking the effective price down to Rs 1,39,490.

Reliance Digital also says EMI purchases can bring different savings depending on the bank and payment option. In some cases, the total benefit can exceed the flat discount that is already available on the product page.

What makes the discount structure different

The promotion works in two layers, which is why the final benefit can look larger than the visible product discount alone. One layer is the direct price cut on the listing, while the other comes from the card offer applied at checkout.

That setup means the final amount varies by payment method. A non-EMI card transaction can unlock the full instant bank discount, while EMI users may see a different combination of benefits depending on the bank.

Why some buyers may compare it with iPhone 17 Pro

Even after the reduction, the iPhone 17 Pro Max still sits in Apple’s most expensive tier. That is one reason some buyers may look at the iPhone 17 Pro, which shares the same A19 Pro chip and a similar flagship experience.

The Pro Max has the advantage of a 6.9-inch display and a larger battery, making it a better fit for people who watch a lot of video or spend long hours gaming. It also offers the longest endurance in the lineup, but that comes with a heavier build of 233 grams.

The smaller Pro model keeps much of the same performance in a lighter body. For buyers who do not need the biggest screen or the extra battery headroom, it may represent the more practical value choice.

Key hardware highlights

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is powered by the A19 Pro chip and 12GB of RAM. It also includes a 6.9-inch display, a 4,823mAh battery, 40W wired charging, three 48MP rear cameras, and an 18MP front camera.

Apple has also made several upgrades over the previous generation. The display is said to be brighter and now carries a better anti-glare coating, which should help when used outdoors.

The phone also gets a vapour chamber cooling system. Apple says that should help sustain performance during heavier workloads.

On the camera side, all rear sensors now use 48MP resolution. The improved telephoto camera is designed to produce sharper and more detailed shots.

Video recording remains one of the device’s biggest strengths, with performance that still stands among the best in the smartphone segment. Battery life is also improved over the previous model, while charging is faster than before.

Apple still does not include a charger in the box, so buyers will need to budget for an adapter separately if they do not already have one. For those who have been waiting for a better entry point into the Pro Max line, the current Reliance Digital deal makes the purchase notably less painful, even if the phone remains firmly in premium territory.

iPhone 17 Pro Max vs iPhone 17 Pro

Model Main Strength Trade-Off
iPhone 17 Pro Max Larger 6.9-inch display, bigger battery, longest battery life Heavier at 233 grams
iPhone 17 Pro Similar performance in a smaller, lighter body Smaller screen and less battery capacity

For buyers focused on the biggest screen and the strongest endurance, the Pro Max is still the more complete package. For those who value comfort in daily use, the smaller Pro model may be the smarter compromise.
