Huawei MatePad Mini’s 5.2 mm Body Brings PaperMatte Display to a Premium Mini Tablet

Huawei has introduced the HUAWEI MatePad Mini in Indonesia at a price of Rp 8.999.000. The compact tablet is aimed at users who want a lightweight device that still supports both work and entertainment.

The strongest selling point is its extremely slim design. With a thickness of only 5.2 mm and a weight of around 260 grams, the device is positioned as one of the most portable tablets in its class.

Premium display built for reading and productivity

The MatePad Mini uses an 8.8-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte Display, described as the first of its kind in the mini tablet category. Huawei says the panel delivers a 92 percent screen-to-body ratio, supported by 2.99 mm bezels for a wider-looking display area.

The screen also carries a 120Hz refresh rate, 343 PPI density, and peak brightness of up to 1800 nits. Huawei combines those specifications to create a display that stays smooth, sharp, and visible across different lighting conditions.

Huawei says the PaperMatte technology adds anti-glare, anti-reflection, and anti-sparkle characteristics. That makes the screen more comfortable to use in bright rooms and outdoor settings.

Beyond video playback and reading, the display is also designed for note-taking, document review, and digital drawing. The stylus experience is intended to feel closer to writing on paper.

Built for work, study, and creative tasks

For productivity, Huawei includes WPS Office 3.0 to handle documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and PDF files more conveniently. The tablet also comes with HUAWEI Notes, which adds AI-based features for handwriting enhancement, equation recognition and calculation, note replay, instant shapes, split-screen use, and floating windows.

Creative users are given access to GoPaint, an app that supports Intelligent Color Card, Animation Frame, and Rotation Brushes for sketches and digital artwork. The experience is further supported by the HUAWEI M-Pencil 3rd Gen and a Leather Case.

Battery and launch offers in Indonesia

To support daily mobility, the MatePad Mini is equipped with a 6400mAh battery and fast charging. Huawei positions that battery setup for meetings, remote work, studying, and entertainment throughout the day.

The tablet is available in Spruce Green and officially priced at Rp 8.999.000 in Indonesia. During the promotion period from 24 June to 24 July 2026, buyers can receive bonuses valued at Rp 4.500.000.

The bundle includes the HUAWEI M-Pencil 3rd Gen, MatePad Mini Folio Cover, one battery replacement within three years, two PaperMatte screen repairs within one year, a two-week iQIYI VIP membership, and three months of Noice Premium membership.

Huawei is also offering a Back to School promotion with discounts of up to 42 percent on selected products. In addition, the first 20 buyers each day can get a free HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 3 while supplies last.

Purchases are available through the HUAWEI Store, Huawei’s official marketplace channels, and offline retail partners such as Erafone, Urban Republic, and other authorized sellers. The overall package places the MatePad Mini as a premium small tablet that focuses on portability without giving up practical features.
