Redmi has launched the K90 Ultra in China, positioning the phone squarely at mobile gamers who want flagship-grade performance, aggressive cooling, and a large high-refresh display. The device combines Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite with a built-in fan, a 1.5K AMOLED panel, and an 8,550 mAh battery.
According to tekno.kompas.com, the K90 Ultra is one of Xiaomi’s most focused gaming phones yet, with hardware choices that prioritize sustained performance over slim design. The phone also adds a dedicated graphics chip, fast charging, and several premium connectivity and durability features.
Performance Built For Long Gaming Sessions
The main selling point of the Redmi K90 Ultra is its Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset built on a 3 nm process. It is paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage, giving the device a clear flagship specification sheet.
To keep performance stable during heavy gaming, Xiaomi equips the phone with an active cooling system that includes an 18.1 mm fan. The company says the fan produces around 32 dB of noise during operation and can lower the device temperature by up to 10 degrees Celsius.
The cooling setup is further supported by a 6,000 mm² vapor chamber. Redmi also adds a D2 graphics chip, which is designed to improve frame rates through AI frame interpolation and AI upscaling in games.
Display, Camera, And Battery
| Feature | Specification |
|---|---|
| Display | 6.83-inch flat AMOLED, 1.5K resolution |
| Refresh Rate | 165 Hz |
| Touch Response | 3,500 Hz instant touch sampling, 480 Hz multi-finger touch sampling |
| Peak Brightness | 3,500 nits |
| Main Camera | 50 MP with OIS |
| Ultrawide Camera | 8 MP |
| Front Camera | 20 MP |
| Battery | 8,550 mAh |
| Charging | 100W wired, 22.5W reverse wired charging |
The display is another major draw. The K90 Ultra uses a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution of 1,280 x 2,772 pixels and a 165 Hz refresh rate for smoother animation and motion.
Redmi also equips the panel with a 3,500 Hz instant touch sampling rate and a 480 Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate, which should help reduce input lag in fast-paced genres such as FPS and MOBA games. The screen reaches a peak brightness of 3,500 nits and supports Full Array DC Dimming to reduce flicker.
On the camera side, the phone carries a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 20 MP front camera. Power comes from an 8,550 mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging, 22.5W reverse wired charging, and bypass charging for gaming sessions.
Xiaomi also includes a 100W GaN charger in the retail box. That detail matters for a phone that is designed to stay plugged in less often, even with a large battery and performance-heavy hardware.
Software, Connectivity, And Price
The Redmi K90 Ultra runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3. It also features symmetrically tuned stereo speakers by Bose, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and water and dust resistance ratings of IP66, IP68, and IP69.
The phone is available in Space Silver, Shadow Black, and Sky Blue. In China, pricing starts at 2.999 yuan for the 12 GB/256 GB model and rises to 3.699 yuan for the 16 GB/512 GB version.

| 12 GB / 256 GB | 2.999 yuan |

| 12 GB / 512 GB | 3.499 yuan |
| 16 GB / 512 GB | 3.699 yuan |
For now, the Redmi K90 Ultra is sold only in China. Xiaomi has not announced a global release, although there is a possibility that similar specifications could appear under the Poco brand in some international markets.
