Honda is sharpening the competition in Indonesia’s entry-level scooter segment with the 2026 BeAT Connected 125. The model combines stronger efficiency claims, new digital features, and a larger engine package in one update.
The headline figure is a claimed range of up to 300 kilometers on a full tank. For daily riders who watch fuel costs closely, that number alone gives the scooter immediate attention.
More power without losing efficiency
At the center of the update is the new eSP+ 125cc engine. Honda says the unit is designed to be more advanced and efficient than the previous setup.
The fuel-injection system has also been refined through the latest PGM-FI, which is intended to keep consumption low while preserving performance. Compared with the earlier 110cc version, the 125cc engine brings more power and torque.
That change should make the scooter feel more responsive in crowded city traffic. For commuter use, a quicker throttle response can matter as much as fuel economy.
Digital features move into the entry-level class
The most visible technology upgrade is Honda RoadSync. Through Bluetooth connectivity, the scooter links with a smartphone and brings connected functions to the dashboard.
Riders can access navigation, message notifications, and real-time vehicle information through the digital meter panel. The setup aims to make everyday travel more practical without pushing the rider’s attention away from the road.
The digital display itself also looks more modern and informative. In a segment where basic utility has long dominated, the addition of connected features marks a clear shift in expectations.
Security gets a stronger role
On the top variant, Honda adds the Smart Key System in place of a conventional key. The system allows the scooter to be started without inserting a key.
It also includes Answer Back System and an anti-theft alarm for extra protection. For urban users, that package adds convenience while addressing one of the biggest concerns in daily parking situations.
The security upgrade helps position the BeAT Connected 125 as more than a simple commuter scooter. It is being framed as a more complete mobility tool for city life.
Pricing remains within reach
Even with the broader update, Honda keeps the pricing competitive. The 2026 BeAT Connected 125 is sold from Rp19 million to Rp21 million, depending on the variant.
At that level, buyers get a larger engine, smartphone connectivity, and modern security features in a package that remains close to the entry-level market. That combination could appeal to students and urban workers looking for a practical scooter with lower running costs.
The model also reflects how the entry-level scooter market is changing in Indonesia. Buyers are no longer judging products only by price and fuel use, but also by digital integration, comfort, and overall convenience.
With its range claim, upgraded engine, and connected hardware, the BeAT Connected 125 2026 arrives as a more ambitious take on a familiar commuter formula. Honda is clearly betting that efficiency alone is no longer enough to win over modern riders.
