Nintendo’s Switch 2 hardware plans may not be slowing down. After reports about a handheld revision with a replaceable battery, a new LCD panel has now surfaced that could point to another internal update for the console.
The detail matters because the change may target one of the most common complaints from early users: ghosting. If the new panel is real and reaches production, it would be one of the most meaningful revisions for players who care about image clarity during motion-heavy games.
A new panel number has appeared
The discovery was shared by Nintendo Patents Watch on Bluesky after a Switch 2 LCD panel was spotted on a resale site in China. The panel carries the model number LS079T1SX10P and is said to feature different circuitry and connectors.
According to the account, the model appears to refer to an LTPS panel from Sharp. It is estimated to be 7.9 inches in size with a 1,080p resolution, keeping it in line with the current handheld display class.

Why ghosting is drawing attention
Ghosting appears when moving objects leave a visible trail behind them, usually because pixel response is too slow. For players, that can make fast motion look less clean and can affect the overall feel of the screen.
Complaints about ghosting have already been raised by some Switch 2 owners. That is why the appearance of a different panel has quickly led to speculation that Nintendo may be working on a display-focused fix.
The update may not mean a brand-new model

OLED and Lite talk does not fit the current clue
Earlier discussion has also mentioned possible Switch 2 OLED and Switch 2 Lite handheld versions. So far, however, those ideas do not appear to match this latest LCD panel finding.
That leaves a simpler explanation on the table: Nintendo may be preparing an internal revision of the existing LCD model rather than a full new screen family. For now, the newly spotted panel is the most concrete hint that more hardware tuning for Switch 2 could still be underway.
