TFT’s Enchanted Wilds Pushes Players Into A Sharper, Riskier Decision Game

Riot Games is taking Teamfight Tactics in a more flexible direction with Enchanted Wilds, a new set built around a misty forest world and a faster decision-making loop. The standout addition is Wisps, a Shop mechanic that lets players buy temporary power with effects that can support combat, economy, or Experience.

The set is headed to PBE on 28 July, and Riot has already shown early looks at its traits, champions, and broader design direction through a Dev Drop. That preview suggests Enchanted Wilds is not just adding new units, but changing how players approach every round.

Wisps turn the Shop into a tactical choice

Wisps are an evolution of the Charms system from Magic N’ Mayhem, but with a more animated presentation and a more direct role in moment-to-moment play. Players can buy one Wisp per round and choose the effect that best fits the state of the game.

As matches go on, the Wisps that appear become stronger and gain new visuals. Each one also has its own original illustration and reacts on screen after being purchased, including movement such as running or flying.

New traits encourage bolder team building

Enchanted Wilds is designed to reward creative compositions, with traits that carry a strong forest identity. Riot is leaning into jungle monsters, utility plants, and layered bonuses that can shift how a board is built.

TraitMain Effect
RiftbeastsBrings iconic jungle monsters with an Alpha Mark system for Red, Blue, Purple, and Orange buffs
ElderwoodPlaces forest plants on the board for defensive utility and frontline support
Sunbeam & MoonbeamSunbeam grants shields and magic damage, Moonbeam grants attack speed, and both together unlock the hidden Eclipse trait
BlossomBoosts the strength and utility of all Wisps bought by the player

Riftbeasts stands out because of its Alpha Mark system and the chance to recruit an Elder Dragon at the highest level. Sunbeam and Moonbeam also create a clear incentive to chase combination value, especially with the hidden Eclipse trait waiting behind them.

Legendary champions bring unusual mechanics

Riot is also using Enchanted Wilds to give several legendary units more distinctive jobs than simple damage output. Draven, Ivern, and Lux each introduce mechanics that can alter the pace of a match and the way a board is read.

ChampionSpecial Mechanic
DravenHas a unique bounty system built around a mini quest with large economic rewards
IvernUses the Greenfather trait to plant seeds that reshape the battlefield into unique biomes such as forest, swamp, and waterfall
LuxCounts twice for the chosen Origin and locks that Origin from appearing for other players while Lux is owned

Set Design Lead Matthew “Wittrock” Wittrock said Enchanted Wilds is focused on flexibility and exploration. He added that Riot wants each match to feel like a new journey through a magical forest.

Cosmetics and the competitive path are expanding too

Beyond gameplay changes, Riot is adding new cosmetics including Chibi Soul Fighter Jinx and Chibi Office Aatrox. For competitive players, Convergence Fest will take place in Las Vegas from 11 to 13 December 2026.

The event will combine the TFT Vegas Open and the Riftbound NA Regional Championship. In-game, the return of Carousel and lower trait breakpoints should give Enchanted Wilds enough depth for both casual players and professionals.
