Motorola Razr Fold has achieved a camera score of 164 and taken the top position in DXOMARK’s global foldable and flip phone ranking. The result gives Motorola’s first large-screen foldable a notable advantage in a category where camera quality has often been seen as a trade-off.
The device is priced at around Rp 25.5 million in Indonesia and combines its foldable form with a flagship-focused camera system. Motorola positions the Razr Fold as an option for buyers who do not want to sacrifice photography and video capabilities for a flexible display.
Camera System Built Around Three 50 MP Sensors
The rear camera array includes a 50 MP main camera with a Sony LYTIA 828 sensor, f/1.6 aperture, autofocus, and optical image stabilization. It is accompanied by a 50 MP ultrawide camera with a 122-degree field of view and autofocus for macro photography.
A 50 MP periscope telephoto camera uses a Sony LYTIA 600 sensor and offers 3x optical zoom. Motorola also lists digital zoom up to 100x for distant subjects.
| Camera | Key Specification | Primary Use |
|---|---|---|
| Main camera | 50 MP Sony LYTIA 828, f/1.6, OIS | Photos and video |
| Ultrawide camera | 50 MP, 122-degree field of view | Wide shots and macro |
| Periscope telephoto | 50 MP Sony LYTIA 600, 3x optical zoom | Long-distance shooting |
| Front cameras | 32 MP internal and 20 MP cover display | Selfies and video calls |
The use of Sony LYTIA sensors for both the main and periscope cameras is relatively uncommon among foldable devices. The handset also includes a 32 MP internal front camera and a 20 MP camera on the cover display.
8K Recording and Dolby Vision Support
The main camera can record video at up to 8K resolution at 30 fps. It also supports 4K video at 60 fps and 4K slow-motion recording at 120 fps.
Dolby Vision recording is available through the main and periscope telephoto cameras. Motorola says the combination of Dolby Vision and the Sony LYTIA 828 sensor enables a dynamic range up to six times wider than typical camera systems.
The main camera’s OIS system has up to 3.5 degrees of compensation to help reduce shake during shooting. This feature is intended to preserve image stability for both still photography and video capture.
AI Processing for Moving Subjects
Motorola includes Zero Shutter Lag, AI-powered Portrait, AI Action Shot, and an AI Photo Enhancement Engine in the camera system. AI Action Shot is designed to assist with images of fast-moving subjects.
The AI Photo Enhancement Engine processes photographs to improve detail, colour, and lighting. These software tools complement the hardware that underpins the Razr Fold’s DXOMARK score.
Large Displays and Flagship Hardware
The main display is an 8.1-inch LTPO 2K panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 6,200 nits. Its 6.6-inch cover display has a 165 Hz refresh rate, a 2,520 x 1,080-pixel resolution, and brightness of up to 6,000 nits.
| Component | Specification |
|---|---|
| Main display | 8.1-inch LTPO 2K, 120 Hz, up to 6,200 nits |
| Cover display | 6.6-inch, 165 Hz, up to 6,000 nits |
| Chipset | Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 |
| Battery | 6,000 mAh, 80-watt wired and 50-watt wireless charging |
Both displays support Dolby Vision and HDR10+, while the phone uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Motorola Indonesia Product Portfolio Head Zulfahmi said the company sought to address consumer concerns about compromising on cameras or features when buying a foldable.
The Motorola Razr Fold is offered in Pantone Blackened Blue and Pantone Lily White. Its 6,000 mAh battery supports 80-watt wired charging and 50-watt wireless charging.
