POCO M7 Pro 5G enters the Rp2.5 million to Rp3 million segment with a package that looks well balanced on paper. It combines an AMOLED 120Hz display, a 5,110 mAh battery, 45W fast charging, and a camera with OIS, making it feel complete for users who want an affordable phone that can still handle gaming.
For that price class, the device is competitive, but not irreproachable. POCO M7 Pro 5G is better understood as an all-rounder with solid capability for light to medium gaming, rather than a performance-focused machine that dominates every area.
Gaming performance stays safe for popular titles
The phone relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 7025-Ultra built on a 6nm process, paired with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. That combination gives enough room for multitasking and for installing large games without immediate storage anxiety.
In daily use, the device is comfortable when running Mobile Legends and Free Fire. Both titles can be played at high graphics settings with stable frame rates.
PUBG Mobile also remains within acceptable limits on this phone. Smooth to Balanced settings are still usable, and the screen response continues to support both casual and more competitive sessions.
Heavy games expose the limits
The situation changes once the workload becomes more demanding. Games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail push the device into a more restrained mode, where Low settings are recommended to keep frame rates steady.
In that scenario, performance is described as stable around 30 to 45 FPS. That makes the phone suitable for gaming, but not the kind of device aimed at users who regularly spend long sessions on graphically intense titles.
The display and battery carry much of the appeal
Beyond the chipset, the display becomes one of the main strengths. The 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate offers smooth visuals, while peak brightness up to 2,100 nits helps visibility under direct sunlight.
Battery life also supports the phone’s appeal for everyday use and lighter gaming. The 5,110 mAh battery is backed by 45W fast charging, so recharging does not take excessively long.
POCO also keeps several practical features in place. NFC, an IR blaster, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack are still included, which adds convenience for users who value those functions in a midrange phone.
A few compromises prevent a cleaner victory
The phone is not without limitations. Video recording is capped at 1080p 30fps, while some rivals already offer higher options.
Its UFS 2.2 storage also starts to look less modern when compared with more aggressive competitors in the same class. Even so, thermal behavior remains controlled, with temperatures reported around 38 to 42 degrees Celsius after 1 to 2 hours of gaming.
Competition is tight in this segment
In the same price bracket, iQOO Z9x is positioned as the stronger option for buyers who prioritize battery efficiency. It is described as having better endurance and longer gaming duration.
Redmi Note 15 Pro stands out with a more complete camera system and a more premium-feeling display. Samsung Galaxy A26 5G, meanwhile, offers stronger long-term software support and a more consistent screen experience.
That leaves POCO M7 Pro 5G in a practical middle position. It remains a capable choice for users who want a versatile phone with dependable gaming support, but buyers focused on battery life, camera quality, or software longevity may find other models better aligned with their priorities.
