Apple’s Budget iPhone 17e Nears Indonesia Launch After TKDN Clearance

Apple’s next more affordable flagship is drawing closer to an official launch in Indonesia. The iPhone 17e has already cleared the 40 percent local content certification from the Ministry of Industry, a key requirement for legal sales in the country.

Its presence is becoming harder to miss. The device also appears on Apple Indonesia’s official site with listed specifications, even though Apple has not yet announced the local launch date or official pricing.

A clear sign of commercial rollout

On the TKDN website, a device with the code A3634 is listed under PT Apple Indonesia. That code is believed to refer to the iPhone 17e, which is positioned as the most affordable model in the iPhone 17 lineup.

When a product shows up in both a government database and a company’s official page, it usually signals that commercialization has entered its final stage. For Apple, that makes the next move in Indonesia especially important as the company prepares for wider distribution.

The certification path also suggests Apple is pushing faster on product availability in the Indonesian market. That matters in a premium smartphone segment where competition remains intense.

Apple’s lower-cost iPhone 17 model

Globally, the iPhone 17e was first introduced in March 2026. From the beginning, Apple framed it as the least expensive member of the iPhone 17 family while still keeping core Apple features in place.

The device is built around the A19 chip using 3-nanometer manufacturing. Apple says this chip delivers higher performance and better power efficiency than the previous generation.

It comes with a 6-core CPU and a 4-core GPU. Apple claims the CPU can deliver up to twice the speed of the iPhone 11, while the GPU supports ray tracing for more advanced gaming.

For AI-related tasks, the iPhone 17e includes a 16-core Neural Engine. This supports Apple Intelligence features, including real-time content analysis.

Display, camera, and everyday features

The phone uses a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. Apple rates its HDR brightness at 1,200 nits, aiming to keep the screen sharp and comfortable to view in different lighting conditions.

Apple also adds the latest Ceramic Shield to the display layer. The company says it improves scratch resistance and reduces reflections more effectively.

On the back, the iPhone 17e carries a 48 MP Fusion main camera. It also supports 2x optical zoom, giving users more flexibility when shooting without moving too close to the subject.

Video capabilities remain a major part of the package. The phone supports 4K Dolby Vision recording at up to 60 fps, along with Spatial Audio and a new-generation portrait mode.

Connectivity and software

Apple equips the iPhone 17e with MagSafe, Qi2 wireless charging, and fast charging through USB-C. These additions strengthen the device’s appeal for users who want a modern iPhone without moving to the most expensive tier.

The handset runs iOS 26 out of the box. That software includes features such as Live Translation and Call Screening, extending the newest Apple ecosystem experience to the model.

With TKDN certification in hand, a listing on Apple Indonesia’s official site, and detailed specifications already public, the iPhone 17e is now very close to formal market entry in Indonesia. What remains is Apple’s announcement on timing and pricing for local buyers.
