Insta360 is expanding the Go Ultra lineup with a Hello Kitty edition, and the new version will arrive in China first. The collaboration adds a more playful option to the compact action camera, while the broader global rollout remains unconfirmed.
The special model is set to be announced in China in the middle of the month, with May 14 identified as the teaser’s confirmation point. No official global launch has been reported so far, so the Hello Kitty version appears likely to stay local at first.
A new colorway, but not a new camera inside
Before this special release, the Insta360 Go Ultra was available only in Midnight Black and Arctic White. The Hello Kitty Edition now becomes a third variant, giving the compact camera a more character-driven identity alongside the standard finishes.
That change is mainly about presentation rather than hardware. The core camera specifications remain the same, and the device continues to be positioned as a pocket-sized 4K action camera for flexible everyday use.
Core hardware stays focused on 4K capture
The Go Ultra records up to 4K at 60fps and uses a 1/1.28-inch 50MP sensor. It also offers a 156-degree field of view, which helps it cover a wide scene despite its small size.
Insta360 equips the camera with a 5nm AI chipset, a 2.5-inch flip touchscreen, a microSD slot, a 6-axis gyroscope, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual-band Wi-Fi. Those features keep it aligned with the company’s approach to building a compact but fully featured action camera.
Battery life and bundle options
Power comes from a 500mAh battery rated for up to 70 minutes of use. When paired with the Action Pod, which has a 1450mAh battery, runtime increases to as much as 200 minutes.
The standard package is priced at $449.99 on Amazon in some markets and includes the Action Pod, a magnet pendant, a magnetic easy clip, a quick release safety cord, and a USB-C cable. Insta360 also offers a Creator Bundle that adds a quick release mount, a mini 2-in-1 tripod version 2.0, and a pivot stand.
Accessories remain part of the Go Ultra strategy
The company also sells separate accessories for the camera. The lineup includes the Toddler Titan Kit, Dive Case, ND filter set, easy clip headband, and AquaLens.
That wider accessory ecosystem suggests the Go Ultra is meant for different shooting scenarios, not only standard action use. The Hello Kitty Edition now adds a themed option to that existing setup, although Insta360 has not yet revealed the full design of the collaboration.
For now, the only visual clue is a teaser poster, which confirms the product name and the China announcement date. Details about availability outside China remain unclear.
