Blink Pushes Its Doorbells To 2K+, Keeping The Entry Price Refreshingly Low

Blink’s latest doorbells push into 2K+ without leaving the budget end of the market behind

Blink is upgrading its doorbell lineup with sharper video while keeping the entry price relatively low. The new Blink Battery Doorbell and Blink Wired Doorbell both move to 2K+ resolution, a clear step up from the 1080p class used by earlier Blink models.

That matters because video doorbells are not only used to check who is at the door. They are also commonly used to watch for packages left outside, and Blink is positioning the higher resolution as a practical improvement for that job.

Two models, two installation paths

The new lineup is split around how the doorbell will be installed. Blink Wired Doorbell is aimed at homes that already have doorbell wiring, and it is the company’s first wired-only video doorbell.

Blink Battery Doorbell is the more flexible option for homes and apartments without existing wiring. On that model, Blink also adds a head-to-toe field of view so users can see both visitors and parcels placed near the entrance.

Sharper images are the main selling point

Blink has not confirmed the exact resolution number behind the 2K+ label, but the upgrade clearly places these devices above the brand’s previous 1080p offerings. The company is also using the higher resolution to improve overall image quality in difficult lighting conditions.

That includes situations where strong sunlight hits the front of a home. Blink says the newer setup should help with dynamic range, which can make details easier to see when the camera has to handle bright and dark areas at the same time.

Pricing stays close to the entry level

Even with the jump in resolution, Blink is keeping the starting price low enough to remain attractive to cost-conscious buyers. The Blink Wired Video Doorbell 2K+ starts at $50 in the US, or £40 in the UK, with an introductory price of £26.

Pre-orders are already open, and the pricing is one of the biggest parts of the launch’s appeal. That makes the new models feel aimed at users who want a better image without moving into a much higher price bracket.

Subscription features still matter

As with many products in this category, the full experience depends on a subscription. Some of the more advanced features are reserved for paid plans, including person and vehicle detection, live video recording, and 60-day cloud storage.

In the US, Blink AI Basic costs $7 per month for one device, while Blink Plus AI costs $20 per month for multiple devices. Blink says the UK subscription options are different, with fewer features but lower pricing than in the US.

Part of a broader 2K push

These doorbells are not arriving in isolation. They join Blink Mini 2K and Blink Outdoor 2K, which were introduced earlier in 2026 as part of the company’s broader move toward higher-resolution home security products.

That makes the doorbell category another important piece of Blink’s strategy. For buyers, the choice now comes down to installation needs, with one model built for wired homes and the other designed for more flexible placement, while both keep the same promise of clearer video at a price that stays within reach.
