Redmi Turbo 5 Teased for India, 7,560mAh Battery and 100W Charging Lead the Pitch

Redmi Turbo 5 is emerging as one of the more attention-grabbing new phone launches in India, mainly because the model arrives with a large battery, fast charging, and hardware that looks unusually ambitious for its class. Redmi has already begun signaling the device through online teaser material and a dedicated Amazon microsite, while also showing a black color option for the Indian market.

That early buildup matters because Turbo series phones have not previously debuted in India, even though the same model has already appeared in China with aggressive specifications. The Indian rollout now looks carefully prepared, with the teaser push giving the strongest indication yet that Redmi is ready to expand the series beyond its home market.

Display and battery are the biggest draw

The Redmi Turbo 5 is built around a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also carries a 1268 x 2756 pixel resolution and a peak brightness rating of up to 3,500 nits.

Redmi has also included 3840Hz PWM dimming, which is meant to improve viewing comfort in certain usage conditions. On the power side, the phone uses a 7,560mAh silicon-carbon battery paired with 100W wired fast charging.

That battery setup is backed by 27W reverse wired charging as well. In practical terms, the phone can also be used to top up other devices when needed.

Performance sits in the upper midrange

Under the hood, Redmi Turbo 5 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra. The 4nm chip is paired with a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, placing the phone in a position to handle heavier multitasking and entertainment use.

The software package includes Android 16 with HyperOS 3. Redmi is also offering memory options that go up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. That combination of large memory and fast storage is likely to be one of the strongest selling points for buyers looking at this segment.

Cameras focus on stability and video

The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide camera. On the front, the device carries a 20MP selfie camera.

The main camera remains the key component in the imaging system because optical image stabilization should help keep shots steadier. For video capture, the phone supports up to 4K 60fps recording along with HDR10+.

Premium extras and durability

Redmi has also equipped the phone with stereo speakers that support Hi-Res audio. For security, it uses an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Durability is another area where the device stands out. Redmi Turbo 5 comes with IP68 and IP69K ratings, which point to stronger protection against dust and water.

The physical build includes a glass front and an aluminum frame. At 204 grams, the phone keeps a relatively restrained weight despite the very large battery inside.

Color options and market positioning

In China, Redmi Turbo 5 is available in Black, White, and Mint. For India, only the black variant has been shown so far through the early teaser material.

Because the phone has already launched in China, most of its specification picture is already clear for Indian buyers. The remaining detail now is which final variants Redmi will actually bring to India when the launch is formally announced.
