Vivo S60 is drawing attention well before its official debut in China, and the most noticeable version so far is the white Sea of Stars model. Unlike the other two color options, it adds blue accents and small star-like details that give the phone a more expressive look.
Vivo has confirmed three finishes for the S60 through Weibo: Early Summer Green, Midsummer Night’s Dream for the black variant, and Sea of Stars for the white variant. While the first two lean into a single-tone rear panel, Sea of Stars stands out with a more layered visual treatment.
A design approach meant to be seen
The color lineup makes the S60’s design direction clear from the start. Vivo appears to be pushing the phone as a model that relies on visual identity as much as on hardware.
That approach fits the broader S series identity, where design often serves as one of the main selling points alongside specifications. Vivo has also shown the phone through teaser images that reveal a rectangular rear camera module with three cameras and an LED flash ring inside it.
The Vivo logo sits near the lower center of the back panel, while the S Series label is placed on the camera housing. Based on the images shown so far, the power button and volume keys are on the right side, with the left side left clean.
Vivo says the S60 uses a “unibody cold-carved glass” design. The wording reinforces the impression that this device is being positioned not just as a practical phone, but as one with a distinct visual personality.
Battery capacity stands out
Beyond the exterior, one of the biggest highlights of the Vivo S60 is its 7,200mAh battery. That capacity immediately places it among the most attention-grabbing details ahead of launch.
The phone also supports 90W wired fast charging through a USB Type-C port. Vivo adds a “Global Direct Drive Power Supply 2.0” system, which it says helps keep temperatures under control during charging.
Another feature, called “Micro Electric Wizard 2.0,” is said to preserve ongoing tasks when the battery is nearly empty. Vivo presents that as a way to make everyday use feel safer and more convenient.
Premium features are already confirmed
Vivo has also confirmed IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. That gives the S60 a more premium profile, especially for users who value durability.
Audio hardware includes dual speakers, while an IR blaster is also part of the package. The phone additionally uses an X-linear vibration motor, which Vivo says is meant to deliver better haptics.
Security appears to be another major focus. The device includes a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, with Vivo claiming a 0.1-second recognition time and a 1-second input time.
Launch timing and positioning
Vivo has scheduled the S60 launch in China for 29 May at 7:30 p.m. local time. The same event is also set to introduce the Vivo TWS 5e.
As the successor to the Vivo S50, which arrived in December last year, the S60 is being revealed in stages rather than all at once. Vivo has not yet disclosed the full specification sheet, but the details already shared point to a phone built around a premium feel, strong battery life, and a design that is meant to stand out.
Among the three colors shown so far, Sea of Stars is the one that makes the strongest first impression. Early Summer Green and Midsummer Night’s Dream, by contrast, offer a cleaner and more understated look for users who prefer something simpler.
