Samsung has expanded its premium monitor lineup in Indonesia with three new models designed for very different kinds of users. The range now separates speed-focused gaming displays from a large-format screen built for demanding productivity work.
At the center of the gaming side is the Odyssey OLED G8, which is positioned as the most extreme option in the group. It uses a 4K QD-OLED panel that combines OLED and Quantum Dot technology, aiming to deliver vivid color and precise detail.
The Odyssey OLED G8 is built for fast gameplay. Samsung pairs the panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time, a combination intended to keep motion smooth and reduce blur in rapid action.
To support stable visuals, the monitor also includes AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Samsung adds Glare Free Technology as well, which is designed to reduce light reflection by up to 54 percent so the display remains comfortable to use in different room conditions.
Panel longevity is another focus. The Odyssey OLED G8 comes with OLED Safeguard+ and Dynamic Cooling System, both meant to help maintain durability during extended use.
Samsung’s second gaming model, the Odyssey OLED G7, takes a more flexible approach. Its Dual Mode feature lets users switch between 4K UHD at 165Hz and Full HD at up to 330Hz, giving gamers more room to adapt the display to different game genres.
A larger screen for serious work
On the productivity side, Samsung introduced the ViewFinity S8, a 40-inch curved monitor aimed at multitaskers, video editors, and designers. Its WUHD resolution gives users more space to work with, while the curved design supports a wider and more immersive desktop layout.
Samsung also highlights Thunderbolt 5 connectivity on the ViewFinity S8, with transfer speeds up to 80 Gbps. For visual work, the monitor covers up to 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, a specification that matters for users who need accurate color performance.
The launch in Jakarta shows Samsung is continuing to divide its premium monitor strategy into distinct use cases. The Odyssey OLED G8 and Odyssey OLED G7 target gamers who want speed and responsiveness, while the ViewFinity S8 focuses on screen size, color accuracy, and efficiency for professional work.
