Xiaomi is preparing to bring the 17T series to Indonesia, and the timing is already fixed for 2 June 2026. The lineup will arrive with two models, Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro, and both are being positioned as imaging-focused flagships rather than ordinary successors.
That positioning matters because Xiaomi is framing the series around camera quality, creative content, and daily performance. The company is also pushing a stronger emotional and personal photo-video experience, which makes the 17T series especially relevant for users who actively create content.
Leica imaging as the main attraction
The biggest draw is the Leica-branded camera system. Both models carry a triple-camera setup with a 50 MP main camera, but the sensor size differs between the two versions.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro uses an ultra-large 1/1.31-inch sensor, while the standard Xiaomi 17T uses a 1/1.55-inch sensor. Both rely on Leica UltraPure optical design with a 1G + 6P hybrid lens structure, which is intended to deliver cleaner and sharper images across different shooting conditions.
Another highlight is the Leica 5x Telephoto camera on both devices. This 50 MP telephoto lens includes OIS, supports macro shooting from 30 cm, offers 10x optical-equivalent magnification, and reaches up to 120x AI Ultra Zoom.
Xiaomi also includes Leica Live Moment on both phones. The feature is designed to capture moving images with a more dynamic look and Leica’s characteristic aesthetic color palette.
Video and performance are split by model
For video, the Xiaomi 17T Pro gets the stronger package. It supports cinematic 4K 60 fps recording with a natural-looking background bokeh effect.
Under the hood, Xiaomi uses different MediaTek chips for each model. The Xiaomi 17T Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 built on a 3 nm process, while the Xiaomi 17T uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra on a 4 nm process.
Battery capacity becomes another major talking point
Xiaomi also moves to a new silicon-carbon battery generation for the series. The technology is used to provide higher energy density for heavy use, which supports the flagship positioning of both devices.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro carries a 7,000 mAh battery, which Xiaomi says is 27% larger than the previous generation and can last up to 1.88 days. Charging is equally aggressive for the class, with 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging.
The standard Xiaomi 17T comes with a 6,500 mAh battery and 67W fast charging. Xiaomi also says this model arrives with a more compact and lighter body.
Display, protection, and eye comfort
On the front, both phones use a 1.5K AMOLED panel. Peak brightness reaches 3,500 nits, which should help visibility when used outdoors.
Refresh rate is one of the key differences between the two. The Xiaomi 17T Pro goes up to 144Hz, while the Xiaomi 17T reaches 120Hz.
Xiaomi also emphasizes very thin bezels. On the Xiaomi 17T Pro, LIPO packaging enables symmetrical bezels of just 1.29 mm on all four sides.
Eye comfort is another selling point for the lineup. Xiaomi Vision Care makes the 17T series the first smartphone series to receive four eye-protection certifications at once from TÜV Rheinland.
Prices, colors, and the Indonesia launch
Local pricing for Indonesia has not been announced yet, and Xiaomi will reveal it at the national launch on 2 June 2026. Global pricing starts at EUR 899 for the Xiaomi 17T Pro 12/256GB variant and EUR 749 for the Xiaomi 17T 12/256GB variant.
Color options are already known. The Xiaomi 17T Pro comes in Deep Blue, Deep Violet, and Black, while the Xiaomi 17T is offered in Violet, Opal White, Blue, and Black.
With Leica 5x telephoto imaging, a 7,000 mAh battery on the Pro model, fast charging, bright AMOLED displays, and high-end chipsets, the Xiaomi 17T series is set to become one of the most closely watched flagship arrivals in Indonesia.
