HMD Vibe 2 5G arrives in India with an unusual selling point for an affordable phone: it starts with Sarvam AI built in and support for 22 regional languages right out of the box. That makes the device more than just another low-cost 5G handset, especially for users who want a multilingual experience from the first setup.
The phone is now on sale in India from 26 May 2026 at 12.00 PM IST. Buyers can get it through Flipkart and HMD’s official website, following its launch in India last week.
Local AI is the headline feature
HMD is positioning the Vibe 2 5G as its first phone to bring Sarvam AI from the moment it is switched on. The company says the idea is to help “democratise AI for millions of Indians” with support for 22 regional languages.
That software package gives the phone a clear identity in the entry-level 5G segment. HMD also includes the Sanchar Saathi app on the device, so the phone ships with useful software already in place.
Pricing stays aggressive
The Vibe 2 5G is aimed at buyers looking for a budget 5G option without giving up newer features. In India, the 4 GB + 64 GB version is priced at Rs 10,999, while the 4 GB + 128 GB model costs Rs 11,999.
The Rs 1,000 gap between the two variants makes the higher-storage version the more practical choice for users who need extra room. Both options remain positioned well below Rs 15,000.
Large display, Android 16, and Unisoc power
HMD equips the phone with a 6.75-inch display that uses an HD+ 1600 x 720 pixel resolution. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling and animations feel smoother.
On the performance side, the device runs on the Unisoc T8200 chipset. It ships with Android 16, which gives the Vibe 2 5G a modern software base in its price class.
Battery and camera setup
The phone carries a 6,000 mAh battery and supports 18W charging. That combination suggests HMD is targeting users who want longer daily use from an affordable 5G phone.
For photography, the rear setup uses a 50 MP AI main camera paired with an additional lens. The front camera is an 8 MP unit, keeping the imaging hardware straightforward for this segment.
Design and connectivity details
HMD lists the phone at 8.6 mm thick and 210 grams in weight. It comes in three color options: Nordic Blue, Cosmic Lavender, and Peach Pink.
Connectivity support includes Bluetooth 5.0, Wi‑Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, GLONASS, and a USB-C 2.0 port. Together, these specifications round out a package that focuses on practical everyday use rather than headline-grabbing extras.
