Four model numbers have appeared in India’s BIS database, adding fresh weight to the idea that Google is preparing the Pixel Watch 5 for a wider rollout. The listing does not reveal the full hardware story, but it is often one of the clearest signs that a device has moved into the final stretch before launch.
The four numbers in question are G0F3Y, G1XJ6, G25QD, and GFW3R. Their appearance suggests that Google may once again be planning more than a single smartwatch version, with different size and connectivity options likely in play.
A familiar certification signal
BIS listings are closely watched because they usually appear before a product reaches the market in India. While the database does not expose design details or core specifications, it often confirms that a device has entered the administrative phase needed for release.
That makes this latest sighting notable, especially since it points to multiple variants rather than one standalone model. Based on Google’s previous smartwatch launches, the listed numbers are widely read as possible references to Wi-Fi and LTE configurations, along with more than one case size.
The timing lines up with Google’s pattern
The certification also fits the way Google has handled Pixel Watch launches before. The company typically introduces a new smartwatch alongside its flagship Pixel phones, and the Pixel 11 family is already expected later this year.
No official schedule has been announced, but the BIS appearance looks consistent with a product that is moving toward a commercial debut. For that reason, the registry entry is being viewed as another sign that the next Pixel Watch is approaching the end of development.
An unusual prototype story keeps the rumor mill active
Interest in Pixel Watch 5 has also been fueled by a peculiar leak that surfaced earlier. In May, Gearbox Software co-founder Randy Pitchford shared images said to show a Pixel Watch 5 prototype.
According to the story he relayed, the device was found by a friend while diving near St. Martin. The back of the unit reportedly carried a Pixel Watch 5 marking, and the photos were said to show a 45 mm model.
What the leaked images seemed to show
The images that circulated alongside that story suggested a smartwatch with several health-tracking features. Those included heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen measurement, skin temperature tracking, and ultra-wideband, or UWB, connectivity.
There is still no confirmation that the pictured unit was a final retail device. Even so, the combination of that leak and the new BIS entry makes the Pixel Watch 5 look increasingly real rather than speculative.
Chipset rumors remain a major point of interest
One of the biggest questions surrounding the watch is the chipset. A rumor has suggested that Google may move away from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 and instead use a Tensor-based solution of its own.
If that change happens, it could matter more than a cosmetic redesign. A new platform would likely have a bigger impact on the watch’s overall direction than any external changes, especially if the design itself stays close to the previous generation.
Google has not confirmed any of those details, and the chipset discussion remains unverified. Still, it is one of the most closely watched parts of the Pixel Watch 5 story because it could define how significant this generation becomes.
The four BIS model numbers, the prototype images, and the chipset rumor together point to a smartwatch that is steadily moving into view. For now, Google has said nothing publicly, but the signs continue to suggest that the Pixel Watch 5 is being prepared alongside the Pixel 11 lineup later this year.
