Xiaomi is pushing its T Series further into premium territory in Indonesia with a clear emphasis on long-range photography. The new Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro both arrive with Leica 5x Telephoto, making the feature available across the entire line for the first time in the series.
That shift is positioned as the core of the lineup, not just an added camera spec. Xiaomi is also pairing the hardware with Leica Live Moment, a feature meant to make photos feel more vivid and emotionally resonant.
Telephoto becomes the main identity
The company introduced the series under the slogan “The Telephoto Master” to reflect its focus on mobile photography trends. Marketing Director Xiaomi Indonesia, Andi Renreng, said the devices are built to respond to the new way people capture and share moments.
According to Xiaomi, the camera system combines Leica 5x Telephoto, 10x optical-grade zoom, and 120x AI Ultra Zoom. That mix is intended to give users more flexibility when shooting subjects at a distance without losing important detail.
Same Leica approach across both models
Both the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro use a 50MP main camera in a triple-camera setup developed through Xiaomi and Leica collaboration. The standout change is that Leica 5x Telephoto is no longer limited to a higher-end variant within the T Series.
This is the first time the technology has been present on every model in the line. Optical Image Stabilization, or OIS, is also included to help keep results sharp across different focal lengths.
The telephoto setup is meant for a wide range of use cases. Xiaomi says users can capture pet expressions with macro photography from as close as 30 cm, frame human-interest moments with 10x optical-grade zoom, or shoot buildings and landmarks from far away with 120x AI Ultra Zoom.
Video and performance support
The telephoto system also extends into video use, especially on the Xiaomi 17T Pro. That model supports cinematic video recording at up to 4K 60fps.
To support heavier workloads, Xiaomi adds the 3D IceLoop System. The cooling solution is designed to move heat away from the chipset faster so performance remains stable during demanding camera use or gaming sessions.
That thermal management approach matters because 4K video recording and long gaming periods both require consistent performance. Xiaomi presents the system as part of the premium experience in the new series.
Official pricing and launch offers in Indonesia
The Xiaomi 17T Series is available in Indonesia through online and offline channels starting 6 June 2026. Official pricing has been announced for the 12GB + 256GB variants.
