A protective case that appears to fit Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone has pushed speculation back into focus, especially around the possibility of a new ultra-premium model tentatively being called iPhone Ultra. The accessory is being watched closely because cases often surface when the supply chain has already started to see the outline of an unreleased device.
The latest images suggest a device that is being shaped around one priority above all others: keeping the body as thin as possible. That approach matters for foldables, where every millimeter becomes a design challenge once the phone has to close cleanly without giving up core functionality.
A slimmer design with a simplified rear layout
The case images point to a very slim handset with a rear camera system that looks more restrained than Apple’s current Pro models. Only two rear cameras appear to be planned, which fits the idea that Apple may be trying to preserve thickness when the device is folded.
Other physical details have also surfaced from the case design. The volume buttons are reportedly placed near the top, the power button sits on the right side, and there is a cutout below that button that is believed to relate to an antenna.
The case also shows support for Camera Control, matching the feature found on Apple’s newer iPhone generation. At the same time, there is no visible space for an Action button, which would set it apart from the Pro lineup.
Magnetic support raises accessory questions
The product description linked to the case mentions built-in N52 magnets. Those magnets are said to help the accessory stay attached more firmly during use.
That detail does not prove full MagSafe support on the foldable iPhone itself. The magnets may simply have been added by the case maker to work better with magnetic accessories such as car mounts, magnetic wallets, or power banks.
Even so, the presence of magnets adds weight to the idea that Apple is preparing the device for a wider accessory ecosystem. For a premium foldable, that kind of compatibility would be important if the phone is meant to stay compact while still flexible in everyday use.
What the device may offer inside
Beyond the case leak, earlier reports from analysts and gadget leakers have already outlined a possible feature set for Apple’s first foldable. The device is said to include a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch main foldable screen.
On the performance side, Apple is expected to use the A20 Pro chip along with 12 GB of RAM. The camera system is described as a dual 48 MP setup, while security may rely on Touch ID integrated into the side button because the foldable design leaves limited room for Face ID.
That combination suggests Apple is not only exploring a new form factor. The company also appears to be adapting core components so the phone remains practical despite the tight internal space.
Thin dimensions, premium pricing
The rumored dimensions have also drawn attention. The device is said to measure around 4.7 mm when open and 9.23 mm when folded, which would place it among the thinnest foldables on the market.
That kind of slimness would put Apple directly into a segment that demands strong mechanical durability and efficient engineering. It would also make the device stand out in a category where thickness often becomes a major compromise.
Price expectations are equally ambitious. Several reports suggest an entry price of around USD 2,000, or more than Rp 30 juta, which would position it as the most expensive iPhone Apple has ever sold.
At that level, the foldable model is likely aimed at professional users and technology enthusiasts who want an entirely new Cupertino device. For now, the protective case remains one of the clearest signals that the design may be nearing its final stage before mass production.
