May’s AnTuTu rankings for Android tablets send a clear message: the top tier is still heavily shaped by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The chipset occupied six of the top seven spots, while MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 had to settle for seventh place.
That result matters because it shows which platform is currently best positioned to power flagship tablets across multiple brands. It also highlights how difficult it remains for rival chipsets to break Qualcomm’s hold on the premium tablet segment.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 sets the pace
At the very top, Vivo Pad 6 Pro posted an average score of 4,132,697 points. That was enough to make it the fastest Android tablet in the list.
Right behind it came the iQOO Pad 6 Pro with 4,081,031 points. The gap between the two was narrow, which fits with the fact that they are said to share many hardware similarities.
Lenovo’s Legion Y700 5th Gen followed in third place with 4,073,338 points. The result strengthens the Legion Y700 series’ reputation as a compact gaming tablet that can still stay competitive among premium devices.
Six of the top seven belong to Qualcomm
The strongest pattern appears just below the top three. Oppo Pad 5 Pro, OnePlus Pad 3 Pro, and Honor MagicPad 3 Pro 13.3 all joined the upper part of the chart, filling out the rest of the top six.
All of those tablets are powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. That means the first six positions were completely controlled by the same Qualcomm platform, even though the devices came from several different brands.
For the market, that kind of spread is telling. It suggests that Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip is not only fast in one device, but also consistently strong across different manufacturers and product designs.
Dimensity 9500 holds on, but only in seventh
The first non-Qualcomm entry in the top ten was Redmi K Pad 2. It used MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 and recorded an average score of 3,716,562 points.
That placed it seventh overall, making it the only tablet in the top ten to carry MediaTek’s newest premium chip. The ranking shows that Dimensity 9500 can remain relevant in the upper group, but it still could not break into the Snapdragon-dominated top six.
For May 2026, the balance of power clearly favored Qualcomm. Even so, MediaTek’s presence in the upper end of the chart keeps the competition from becoming completely one-sided.
The rest of the chart stays mixed
The lower part of the ranking adds more variety to the picture. H3C MegaBook appears with Intel Core Ultra 5 228V, while Oppo Pad 4 Pro and OnePlus Pad 2 Pro are listed with older Snapdragon generations.
That mix shows the table is not limited to a single chip family outside the top-ranked devices. It also reinforces how broad the tablet landscape has become, even if the spotlight remains on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 cluster at the top.
Vendor distribution is also wide. Vivo, iQOO, Lenovo, Oppo, OnePlus, and Honor all appear among the leading devices, which means high performance is now spread across multiple brands rather than centered on one maker alone.
For buyers, that usually translates into more options at the premium end. The benchmark results suggest that the difference between these tablets may come more from implementation, size, and product identity than from the chip category alone.
