Xiaomi’s latest tablet push in Indonesia is built around a simple idea: premium-looking specs do not always need a premium price tier. The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 arrives with a 2K display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a package that is positioned to feel unusually strong for its class.
That positioning is not limited to entertainment use. Xiaomi presents the tablet as a device for light work and study as well, while keeping it tied to the company’s broader ecosystem of connected products.
A compact display with uncommon specifications
The most immediate highlight is the 9.7-inch panel. It uses a 2K resolution, supports a 120Hz refresh rate, and reaches up to 600 nits of brightness.
That combination is meant to make the viewing experience smoother and easier to use in different conditions. Xiaomi also adds TÜV Rheinland certification for Low Blue Light and Flicker Free, along with a Circadian Friendly feature for more comfortable use at night.
Built for more than casual media use
Under the hood, the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 relies on the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 built on a 6nm process. The chip can go up to 2.9GHz and is said to deliver an AnTuTu score above 400,000 points.
Those numbers place the tablet in a category aimed at heavier apps and popular games with stable performance. Xiaomi also gives users microSD support of up to 2TB, which adds flexibility for storage expansion.
Part of a wider Xiaomi ecosystem
The tablet did not arrive alone. Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi Headphone Neo as a wireless audio companion.
Its main appeal is battery life, with Xiaomi claiming up to 72 hours on a single charge. That long endurance makes it suitable for users who move between activities throughout the day and do not want to recharge often.
A device strategy aimed at daily routines
Taken together, the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 and Redmi Headphone Neo show how Xiaomi is shaping its ecosystem offering in Indonesia. The company sees growing demand for devices that work well together.
Marketing Director Xiaomi Indonesia, Andi Renreng, said that consumer demand for integrated devices continues to increase. In that context, the two products are presented not just as new launches, but as tools that can support productivity and entertainment in one connected setup.
Aggressive specs for its segment
The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 combines a 2K 120Hz screen, 600 nits brightness, Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2, and microSD expansion up to 2TB in one compact tablet. The Redmi Headphone Neo adds another layer to that lineup with battery life that stretches to 72 hours.
That mix makes Xiaomi’s latest release look designed for younger users who study, work, and consume media on the move. In a market where value matters, the hardware package is clearly meant to feel more expensive than its class.
