8,000mAh Power Meets Tougher Protection, OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro Targets Flagship Pressure

OnePlus is preparing a sharper split between two versions of the Turbo 6X line, and the Pro model is the one drawing the most attention. The biggest reason is simple: an 8,000mAh battery in a phone positioned for the modern market is a statement in itself.

The Turbo 6X series is scheduled to launch in China on 18 June. Before that debut, OnePlus China President Louis Li Jie has already shown that the lineup will consist of two distinct models, the regular Turbo 6X and the Turbo 6X Pro.

A Pro model built around endurance

The Turbo 6X Pro is being positioned as the most complete version of the family. Its standout feature is the 8,000mAh battery, which immediately separates it from many mainstream phones that still rely on far smaller cells.

OnePlus also says the Pro model will run a premium software layer, paired with performance described as cutting-edge. That combination suggests the company wants the Pro to be seen as more than just a battery-focused device.

Display and durability are part of the pitch

The Pro version is also reported to use a Samsung 1.5K display with eye-care features. Its size is likely around 6.78 inches, placing it firmly in large-screen territory.

Durability appears to be another key selling point. The device is said to carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K protection, indicating that OnePlus is putting strong emphasis on resistance and physical toughness.

The standard model keeps the formula simpler

The regular Turbo 6X follows a different path, but it still focuses on stamina. It comes with a 7,000mAh battery and a 6.72-inch LCD panel, making it less ambitious than the Pro but still notable on battery size alone.

OnePlus is presenting the standard model as a device centered on endurance, reliability, and screen comfort. It is also described as having multi-grade durability, which keeps the emphasis on everyday dependability rather than only on performance.

Chipset and memory options are already visible

Official posters for the series have also revealed the chipset split between the two models. The Turbo 6X uses the Dimensity 7360, while the Turbo 6X Pro is powered by the Dimensity 7400 Super.

Memory options seen so far include 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB. The two phones also appear to share similar color choices, with orange and black already shown, though special editions may still appear later.

Camera hardware helps widen the gap

The differences do not stop at battery, display, and chipset. Previous TENAA listings suggest the Turbo 6X will feature a 50MP+2MP rear setup and an 8MP front camera.

The Turbo 6X Pro goes further with a 50MP+8MP dual rear camera system and a 16MP front camera. That hardware split makes the Pro look like a more complete package rather than a simple battery upgrade.

Launch timing and market questions

The full Turbo 6X lineup will be unveiled in China on 18 June. What remains unclear is whether the series will also arrive in India.

The phones have also attracted attention because they resemble the OnePlus Nord CE6 and Nord CE6 Lite. That similarity has led to speculation that OnePlus may be using a rebrand strategy for the China market after the India launch last month, although there is no official confirmation of that relationship.
