Ugreen’s Cat-Shaped Charger Hides A Detachable Head For 45W Fast Charging

Author: Qoo Media

Ugreen has turned a 45W charger into something that looks more like a desk ornament than a power adapter. The product is shaped like a small cat figure, and its playful appearance is matched by an unusual design trick: the cat’s head must be detached from the body before charging begins.

That approach makes the device stand out immediately on a desk. Instead of hiding a charger under a table or behind a monitor, Ugreen has designed it to sit in plain sight as part of the workspace.

A charger built to look like décor

The unit uses a rounded cat-shaped body with expressive eyes, ears, and a white finish accented by red details on the top and base. Ugreen also uses liquid silicone for the design, which the company describes as skin-friendly.

Because of that styling, the charger is meant to blend in as a decorative object when it is not in use. It fits the growing trend of tech accessories that try to combine utility with visual appeal, especially as GaN chargers become smaller and leave more room for experimentation.

How the charging setup works

The charging process is not conventional. To power a device, the cat head has to be separated from the body, and the USB-C port is hidden on the top of the head.

That single-port setup means the charger is focused on one device at a time. It does not support charging multiple devices simultaneously, which is the main trade-off behind the playful design.

Still serious about charging performance

Under the cute exterior, the X640 model is built around GaN technology and delivers up to 45W through one USB-C port. Its power profiles include 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/3A, and 20V/2.25A.

Those specifications make it suitable for smartphones, tablets, handheld gaming devices, and some lightweight laptops. The 45W output gives it enough headroom to go beyond basic phone charging and cover more demanding everyday use.

Compact size and travel-friendly power input

The charger is relatively small for a desktop accessory that also serves as decoration. Its dimensions are about 63.25 mm tall, 52.5 mm wide, and 48 mm deep.

Ugreen lists the unit at around 115 grams, with a tolerance of ±5 grams, while the retail package weighs about 150 grams. The charger also accepts 100-240V input at 50/60Hz, which makes it compatible with the wide voltage range commonly used internationally.

Pricing and availability

In China, the charger is sold for 89 yuan through JD.com. Ugreen also provides an 18-month warranty for the product.

For now, there is no information about global availability. The release is currently aimed at the China market, where the cat-shaped charger adds a more playful option to a category usually defined by plain, compact blocks.
