OnePlus N Series Rumored At Under Rs. 20,000, Nord CE 6 Lite May Lose Its Budget Crown

OnePlus may be preparing a sharper push into India’s budget smartphone segment, and the newest rumor suggests its next move could undercut the company’s own cheapest phone. A new lineup said to be called OnePlus N is reportedly on the way, with the first model expected to arrive in July and sit below Rs. 20,000.

That pricing would place immediate pressure on Nord CE 6 Lite, which only launched last month as OnePlus’ most affordable phone in the market. Until now, the Nord family has defined the company’s lower-cost offerings in India, but the rumored N series could change that positioning very quickly.

A new entry-level lane for OnePlus

The information comes from tipster Yogesh Brar, who shared the claim on X. He said OnePlus is preparing the new series for India and that more than one model may eventually fall under the Rs. 20,000 mark.

OnePlus has not confirmed the existence of the series or commented on any pricing plans. Even so, the rumor points to a broader attempt to compete more aggressively in the most price-sensitive part of the smartphone market.

Why Nord CE 6 Lite could lose its place

The timing is what makes the rumor stand out. Nord CE 6 Lite was introduced in India on 7 May and currently holds the position of OnePlus’ cheapest phone there.

Its starting price is Rs. 20,999 for the 6GB + 128GB version, while the 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs. 22,999. If OnePlus introduces an N series model below Rs. 20,000, that device would immediately become the new entry point for the brand.

What Nord CE 6 Lite offers today

For now, Nord CE 6 Lite remains the clearest sign of how OnePlus approaches the budget category in India. The phone features a 6.72-inch Full-HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels.

The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. OnePlus also claims a 1,000 nits peak brightness, 392 ppi pixel density, and a 91.4 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Core hardware and camera setup

Inside, the phone is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset, paired with an ARM Mali-G615 GPU. The camera system on the rear includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary camera with an f/2.4 aperture.

OnePlus says the rear setup offers an 89-degree field of view and up to 10x digital zoom. For selfies and video calls, the device uses an 8-megapixel front camera.

Battery remains one of its biggest strengths

The battery is another key part of the package. Nord CE 6 Lite carries a 7,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging and support for 10W reverse wired charging.

It also comes with an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, along with MIL-STD-810H durability certification. Those specifications help explain why the phone has become an important benchmark for OnePlus in the budget segment.

If the OnePlus N series does launch in July as rumored, the company will have a new price leader to challenge buyers who want the lowest possible entry point. For now, though, the lineup remains unannounced, and the market is left watching whether OnePlus will expand its affordable phone strategy beyond Nord.
