FORWAT Technocamp 2026 marked more than an annual gathering. It became a six-year anniversary celebration for the Forum Wartawan Teknologi, bringing together technology journalists in a relaxed setting on 3–4 June 2026.

The event drew at least 50 participants and was held with a camping concept that gave the gathering a warmer and more informal atmosphere. In the middle of Indonesia’s fast-moving technology industry, the program underlined FORWAT’s role as a forum for sharing insight and strengthening quality journalism.

A closer space for journalists and industry players

Committee chair Tuti Endah Pratiwi said the event was not designed as a simple leisure activity. She explained that Technocamp was meant to strengthen ties between journalists and industry players so cooperation in the technology sector could become stronger.

That emphasis fits the history of FORWAT itself, which was officially established on 10 March 2020. Over the years, the community has positioned itself at the forefront of improving public understanding and digital literacy around technology issues.

Glamping helped the conversations feel more natural

The two-day program was arranged to encourage closer interaction among participants. The glamping setting made conversations feel more human and less formal than in a typical professional forum.

Activities combined discussion, education, and entertainment. Participants joined relaxed talks on current technology trends, content and AI workshops, and outdoor activities that required teamwork.

The workshop sessions stood out by focusing on how to optimize artificial intelligence and editing tools for engaging social media content. Another highlight was Amazing Race, which led participants around the area while testing the camera features of the latest smartphones.

Support from major partners

The success of FORWAT Technocamp 2026 was also supported by a wide network of strategic partners. Telkomsel served as the main sponsor, while other supporters included Sharp, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Garmin, ITSEC, Telkom Indonesia, AXIOO, Bluebird Group, Samsung, XLSMART, Delapan/Senyata, Infomedia, Advo, Udari, Komunikasee, Burson, Iris, Doku, Indofood, OPPO, TECNO, Infinix, Huawei, Xiaomi/POCO, CocaCola, and Kino.

FORWAT’s membership growth also showed how the community has expanded. In 2026, the group reached 120 members, up from around 85 the year before, reinforcing its presence in Indonesia’s technology journalism landscape.
