Honor is preparing a new X-series phone that could draw attention for one reason above all others: an 11,000mAh battery. If the circulating specifications hold true, the Honor X80 Pro Max would sit among the largest-battery mainstream smartphones on the market.
The device is also said to be arriving at the end of this month, following an early teaser from Honor. That teaser came alongside a company update that the X-series has surpassed 130 million users worldwide.
A battery-first mid-range phone
The headline feature here is not just capacity, but the combination of endurance and charging speed. Reports point to 90W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging, suggesting Honor wants the device to be useful in daily life as well as long-lasting.
Reverse charging at 27W would allow the phone to top up accessories or even another handset at a relatively high speed. That makes the battery story more practical than simple endurance claims alone.
Honor’s X-series has long been associated with durability and reliability, and the X80 Pro Max appears designed to strengthen that identity. The large battery fits that positioning, but so does the rest of the leaked specification set.
What the leaks suggest
The phone is described as a mid-range model with a flagship-like design language. A 6.78-inch OLED display is said to be on board, paired with a 2788 x 1280 pixel resolution for sharper viewing during content consumption and everyday use.
On the performance side, the Honor X80 Pro Max is linked to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. Honor has not confirmed performance details, but the inclusion of a relatively new chip points to gains in efficiency and computing capability.
Other reported specifications include 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage for the base variant. That configuration would place the device in a competitive space for users who want ample storage without moving into the premium tier.
Camera details remain limited, with reports mentioning a 50-megapixel rear camera. No official information has surfaced yet about the number of lenses, sensor type, or video recording capabilities.
Built for more than battery life
Durability is also expected to be part of the pitch. The device is said to carry broad protection against dust and water, along with a reinforced chassis intended to help it withstand accidental drops and rough daily use.
That approach aligns with the wider reputation of Honor’s X-series, which has often emphasized toughness alongside battery endurance. In this case, the message appears clear: the phone is being positioned as a practical device for demanding users, not just as a battery showcase.
Leaked images have also circulated, showing the front and rear of the phone. The colors mentioned so far are Lightning Red, Black, White, and Orange.
It is not yet confirmed whether all color options will be offered across every market. Even so, the variety suggests Honor wants the X80 Pro Max to stand out visually while keeping the focus on resilience and battery performance.
Software, naming, and what remains unconfirmed
The phone is also tipped to launch with MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. If accurate, that would place it among Honor’s newer software offerings and align it with recent generation devices from the brand.
At the moment, Honor has not revealed the full official specification sheet or pricing. The only confirmed details are the teaser itself and the fact that the device is scheduled for introduction at the end of this month.
Some reports also suggest the global version may carry the Honor Magic 9 Lite name. That version is said to arrive with a smaller battery than the X80 Pro Max, which would not be unusual for regional naming and specification differences.
For now, the strongest reason to watch this launch is the scale of the battery claim. If the 11,000mAh figure and 90W charging both prove accurate, the Honor X80 Pro Max could become one of the most distinctive X-series releases yet.
