Galaxy A27 Lands on Samsung’s Site, but a Surprise Downgrade Catches Attention

Samsung has started to lift the curtain on the Galaxy A27 after the device appeared on the company’s official Czechia website. The listing confirms a new mid-range model is close to launch, while also revealing a mix of upgrades and unexpected cutbacks.

The most notable change is on the performance side, where Samsung moves to a newer Qualcomm chip and extends software support for years. At the same time, several hardware details move in the opposite direction, including camera resolution and dust-and-water protection.

New chipset, familiar display

The Galaxy A27 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, replacing the Exynos 1280 and Exynos 1380 used in earlier models. Samsung pairs it with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB and 256GB.

On the front, the phone uses a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. A punch-hole cutout houses the 12MP selfie camera, giving the device a more modern front design.

Cameras improve in one area, then slip in others

Samsung equips the rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor with OIS, along with a 5MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro lens. That main camera should be the headline feature for buyers who want stabilization in this segment.

However, the rest of the camera package is less convincing. The ultrawide camera drops to 5MP from the 8MP unit on the Galaxy A26, while the front camera also slips from 13MP to 12MP.

Galaxy A27 Key Hardware Details
Chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3
Display 6.7-inch Super AMOLED, FHD+, 120Hz
Rear Cameras 50MP main with OIS, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro
Front Camera 12MP
Battery and Charging 5,000mAh, 25W charging
Protection IP64

The protection rating is another area that may disappoint some buyers. The Galaxy A27 carries IP64 certification, which covers splash resistance, while the Galaxy A26 had IP67 protection.

Battery stays the same, software support becomes the biggest selling point

Samsung keeps the battery at 5,000mAh and charging at 25W, so day-to-day endurance should remain familiar to current Galaxy A users. The software package is where the new model becomes more ambitious.

The Galaxy A27 runs One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 out of the box. Samsung also promises six Android version upgrades and six years of security patches, making long-term support one of the phone’s strongest arguments.

Colors, variants, and early pricing rumors

The phone will be available in black, blue, light green, and pink. Memory configurations are split into 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, each offered with 128GB or 256GB storage.

Samsung has not announced official pricing yet, but early leaks suggest a starting price of €349 for the 6GB/128GB model. The 8GB/256GB version is rumored to reach €439, although those figures still need confirmation from Samsung.

With the listing now live on an official Samsung site, the Galaxy A27 appears to be nearing its market debut. Its strongest appeal is clear enough: newer performance hardware, a 120Hz AMOLED screen, and unusually long software support, offset by camera and durability downgrades that may shape comparisons with the Galaxy A26.
