OPPO is expanding ColorOS 16 to more devices, and the update places AI at the center of the smartphone experience. The new system also focuses on smoother cross-device connectivity and faster interface response for everyday use.

The direction is clear: smartphone software is no longer only about appearance or basic performance. OPPO is positioning ColorOS 16 as a smarter platform that can help users organize work, communication, and creative tasks across multiple devices.

Live Space turns the lock screen into an information hub

One of the most visible changes is Live Space, which is now designed to feel more intuitive on the lock screen. OPPO says the interaction has been made more responsive through smoother animations and more natural transitions.

The feature also works as a practical information hub. Users can receive important real-time updates through dynamic capsule-style notifications that appear without making the screen feel crowded.

This approach changes the lock screen from a place to simply check notifications. OPPO is trying to make it a clean information area, so users can monitor what matters without constantly opening other apps.

O+ Connect pushes cross-ecosystem sharing forward

On the connectivity side, OPPO has improved O+ Connect to make file sharing and device-to-device connections faster. The capability also works when used with Apple devices.

The update is aimed at users who increasingly rely on more than one device in daily routines. In both work and personal use, faster file transfer is a key factor in keeping productivity on track.

OPPO says users can now move files instantly between devices without complicated steps. The goal is to create a more practical experience for people living in a multi-device environment.

AI tools now touch daily routines, travel, and food choices

ColorOS 16 also introduces new AI features that affect everyday tasks more directly. One of them is AI Grouping, which can automatically organize apps and the home screen by category, color, or previously used layouts.

There is also AI Menu Translation for users who travel often or explore new restaurants. The feature can translate food menus instantly while also showing AI-based visual references to make dish choices easier to understand.

That combination of translation and imagery makes exploring new places more convenient. Users get not only the meaning of the text but also context that helps them picture the available dishes.

Productivity and creativity also get a boost

For content creators, OPPO has added AI Popout with support for 4K Motion Collage Popout. The feature allows users to rearrange visual elements and create motion content directly from a smartphone without a complicated process.

AI Scan is designed to support daily productivity needs. It can recognize and enhance document scans automatically so digital files stay neater and easier to access.

Together, these features show that AI in ColorOS 16 is more than a decorative add-on. OPPO is treating it as a tool for working, learning, and creating more efficiently.

Rollout has started and will reach more devices

The ColorOS 16 rollout has already started gradually and will expand to more devices through the end of May 2026. The device list includes the OPPO Find X9, Find X8, Reno15, and Reno14 series.

The first wave of the update is arriving on the OPPO Find X9 Ultra and OPPO Find X9s. These two flagship devices are the first to receive the new optimizations OPPO has prepared for a smarter and more comfortable mobile experience.
