Dimensity 8350 and Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 may sit in the same midrange class, but they are built for different priorities. One is clearly stronger in peak performance, while the other proves far more dependable when the workload does not stop.
That split became obvious in stress testing. Dimensity 8350 posted the higher benchmark numbers overall, yet Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 delivered far better sustained behavior in long gaming sessions.
Raw performance favors Dimensity 8350
In Geekbench, Dimensity 8350 reached 1,324 in single-core testing and 3,971 in multi-core. Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 scored 1,228 and 3,152, leaving a smaller gap in single-core performance but a much wider difference in multi-core work.
The divide grew larger in AnTuTu, where Dimensity 8350 recorded 1,721,541 points. Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 landed at 1,164,871, with the biggest advantage coming from the GPU section.
Dimensity 8350’s GPU score reached 479,642, compared with 190,341 on Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. It also led in CPU, memory, and UX scoring, reinforcing its stronger peak output on paper.
| Benchmark | Dimensity 8350 | Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 |
|---|---|---|
| Geekbench Single-Core | 1,324 | 1,228 |
| Geekbench Multi-Core | 3,971 | 3,152 |
| AnTuTu Total | 1,721,541 | 1,164,871 |
| 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test Stability | 52.9% | 99.2% |
Sustained gaming tells a different story
The clearest surprise came from the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test. Dimensity 8350 reached a top score of 3,067 and fell to 1,622, while Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 stayed tightly clustered between 1,128 and 1,121.
That translated into 52.9 percent stability for Dimensity 8350, far below the 99.2 percent result from Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. In practical terms, Qualcomm’s chip is much better at holding performance steady when a game or app runs for a long time.
Design choices explain the difference
Both chips use TSMC’s 4nm process and a 1+3+4 CPU layout, but their core choices differ. Dimensity 8350 uses one Cortex-A715 at 3.35 GHz, three Cortex-A715 cores at 3.2 GHz, and four Cortex-A510 cores at 2.2 GHz.
Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 shifts to newer cores, combining one Cortex-A720 at 2.7 GHz, three Cortex-A720 at 2.4 GHz, and four Cortex-A520 at 1.8 GHz. That setup helps explain why it trails in peak numbers but performs more consistently under pressure.
Memory, storage, and gaming features widen the gap
On paper, Dimensity 8350 also looks more premium in memory and storage support. It handles LPDDR5X up to 4.2 GHz and UFS 4.0 with MCQ, while Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 supports LPDDR5 up to 3.2 GHz and UFS 3.1.
For graphics, Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 uses the Adreno 810 with Snapdragon Elite Gaming features such as Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0 and Snapdragon Game Super Resolution. Dimensity 8350 relies on Mali-G615 MP6 with MediaTek HyperEngine Adaptive Gaming Technology and also supports ray tracing.
AI support is present on both sides as well. Snapdragon uses Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, while Dimensity 8350 includes MediaTek NPU 780, with both chips supporting on-device generative AI.
Cameras and connectivity remain important differentiators
Dimensity 8350 carries the MediaTek Imagiq 980 14-bit ISP, which supports up to a 320MP single camera and 4K 60fps video recording. Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 uses Qualcomm Spectra Triple ISP 12-bit, with support for up to a 200MP camera and 4K 30fps video.
Connectivity also separates the two. Dimensity 8350 offers sub-6 GHz 5G download speeds up to 5.17 Gbps, while Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 tops out at 2.9 Gbps but adds broader global spectrum flexibility with mmWave support.
Both chips support Wi‑Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 still adds premium DSDA support, aptX Lossless integration, and Triple-Frequency GNSS for more accurate positioning in dense urban areas.
For buyers focused on benchmark dominance, faster memory, newer storage, and stronger camera capability, Dimensity 8350 is the more aggressive option. For those who care more about stability, cooler long-session gaming, and a more rounded connectivity and audio package, Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 may be the smarter pick.
