Amazfit’s New Running Watches Split into Road and Trail Paths, but the Price Gap Is Wide

Amazfit has launched two new running watches in Indonesia with sharply different targets and prices. The Cheetah 2 Pro is aimed at road runners and marathon training, while the Cheetah 2 Ultra is built for trail, mountains, and ultradistance efforts.

The contrast is not only in their intended use, but also in how much buyers must pay. The Cheetah 2 Pro starts at Rp7 million, while the Cheetah 2 Ultra starts at Rp9.4 million, making the decision largely a matter of training style and budget.

Shared build, premium materials

Both models use Grade 5 Titanium for the body and sapphire glass for display protection. Amazfit also gives both watches a 5 ATM water-resistance rating, which makes them suitable for rainy runs, heavy sweat, and training near water.

The two watches differ slightly in size. The Cheetah 2 Pro measures 43.8 x 43.8 x 15.6 mm, while the Cheetah 2 Ultra measures 44.8 x 44.8 x 15.6 mm.

AMOLED screens built for bright outdoor use

Display visibility is one of the main selling points of the new lineup. Both watches use AMOLED panels with brightness reaching 3,000 nits, helping runners read pace, distance, and heart-rate data under direct sunlight.

The Cheetah 2 Pro comes with a 1.32-inch display at 466 x 466 pixels, while the Cheetah 2 Ultra steps up to a 1.5-inch panel with 480 x 480 pixels. The larger screen on the Ultra gives it more room for navigation and trail data.

Cheetah 2 Pro focuses on marathon training

The Cheetah 2 Pro includes Zepp Coach AI, which can build training plans from shorter distances up to a full marathon. It also adds advanced running metrics such as running power, lactate threshold, ground contact time, and running posture.

For navigation, the watch offers dual-band GPS with six satellite systems, along with offline maps and route navigation. Amazfit also supports third-party platforms including TrainingPeaks, Runna, Intervals.icu, and Strava.

Battery life is rated at up to 31 hours in GPS mode, while normal smartwatch use is said to last around 20 days.

Ultra pushes further into trail and endurance territory

The Cheetah 2 Ultra uses a larger 780 mAh battery and is rated for up to 60 hours in GPS mode. In normal use, Amazfit says it can last around 30 days, giving it a clear endurance edge over the Pro.

Trail runners get an elevation overview in trail running mode, which helps track route climbing profiles more clearly. The Ultra also adds faster offline map rendering and more advanced navigation on its 1.5-inch display.

As part of the package, buyers receive two straps: one silicone and one nylon. That gives the Ultra a more flexible setup for training and everyday use.

Health and recovery data stay in the Zepp App

Beyond running performance, Amazfit relies on the Zepp App to monitor health and recovery metrics. Users can track HRV, sleep quality, training load, recovery, and estimated VO₂ Max in one place.

That combination is designed for runners who want more structured training and a clearer view of body condition before race day. It also helps reduce the risk of overtraining when workloads increase.

The Cheetah 2 Pro and Cheetah 2 Ultra are scheduled to launch officially on 10 June 2026. With their different use cases and a notable price gap, the two watches are positioned to serve very different kinds of runners.
