Honor is preparing a smartphone that places endurance at the center of the story. The Honor X80 Pro Max is set to debut in China on 22 June at 19.00 local time, and its headline feature is an 11,000mAh battery.
That capacity immediately pushes the device above the Honor Power 2, which arrived in China in January with a 10,080mAh battery. For buyers watching battery life more closely than ever, the new model is being positioned as Honor’s most extreme power-focused phone so far.
Fast charging still stays in the picture
The large battery is not arriving alone. Honor has confirmed support for 90W wired fast charging, along with 27W wired reverse charging.
That combination makes the X80 Pro Max notable not only for size, but also for the way Honor is trying to balance capacity with practical recharging speed. In a market where many phones still ship with much smaller cells, the numbers alone are enough to draw attention.
Design details already shown
Honor has also begun teasing the device’s design and opened pre-orders through its official online store in China. The company shared the launch timing on Weibo, signaling that the official campaign is now underway ahead of the event.
The teaser images show a flat rear panel and a circular camera module. The back appears deliberately simple, with the Honor branding centered near the lower portion of the panel.
On the rear, Honor has shown a single 50-megapixel Matrix AI Vision camera paired with an LED flash. The front uses a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, while the power and volume keys sit on the right side and the left edge appears button-free.
Colors, expected hardware, and what remains unconfirmed
Honor has confirmed four color options for China: Lightning Red, Moonlight White, Mystic Black, and Vibrant Orange. Beyond that, some key details are still waiting for a full launch reveal.
Earlier reporting suggests the Honor X80 Pro Max may feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,280 x 2,788 pixels. The same report says it could use Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, although Honor has not officially confirmed that information yet.
If those specs prove accurate, the phone would pair a high-resolution display with a power-efficient platform and an unusually large battery. That approach could help the X80 Pro Max stand out as a device built for long-lasting use without giving up a modern screen experience.
A new benchmark inside Honor’s own lineup
The closest comparison remains the Honor Power 2, which launched in China on 6 January with 80W wired fast charging and a 10,080mAh battery. It also measured 7.98mm thick and weighed around 216 grams.
With the X80 Pro Max moving to 11,000mAh, attention now shifts to how Honor will handle size and weight. The company has not disclosed the device’s dimensions or mass, making that one of the main unanswered questions before launch.
What is already clear is that Honor is preparing a phone designed to outsize its own recent record. Between the massive battery, 90W charging, single 50MP rear camera, and four confirmed colorways, the X80 Pro Max is shaping up to be one of the company’s most distinctive releases in China this month.
