Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G Emerges With Dimensity 7300, 12GB RAM and Android 16

Tecno’s next Pova 8 variant is starting to take shape, and the Pro 5G model appears to be the one that pushes the lineup in a noticeably different direction. Its appearance in Google Play Console has added fresh weight to the expectation that a broader global rollout may not be far away.

The most notable shift is that the Pova 8 Pro 5G is not expected to follow the same path as the regular Pova 8. Instead of the Dimensity 7100 used in the standard model, this version is said to rely on a different MediaTek chip from the Dimensity 7000 family.

What the listing reveals

The Google Play Console listing identifies the device under the model number TECNO-LK7 and confirms the commercial name Pova 8 Pro 5G. Tecno has not announced an official launch date yet, but the listing suggests the phone is being prepared for multiple global markets.

That kind of certification-style appearance often points to a launch window that is getting closer. Even so, the company has not said when the handset will actually debut.

Dimensity 7300 appears to be the key upgrade

According to XpertPick, the device is linked to MediaTek MT6878, which is widely believed to be the Dimensity 7300. The chip is an octa-core SoC built around a balance of performance and efficiency.

The reported CPU setup includes four ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and four ARM Cortex-A78 cores reaching 2.5GHz. Graphics are said to come from the ARM Mali G615 GPU.

If that information is accurate, the Pro 5G model will sit on a different performance base from the non-Pro version. That matters because the regular Pova 8 already targets budget buyers with unusually aggressive specifications for its class.

Display, memory and software details

Other early details point to a flat display with a resolution of 1,208 x 2,644 pixels and a pixel density of 520 ppi. The front camera is described as sitting inside a centered punch-hole cutout at the top of the panel.

The same listing also points to Android 16, which would make the device one of the newer software releases at launch if the information holds. RAM is said to reach 12GB, a figure that stands out for a phone in the Pova family.

Battery capacity may be lower than the regular model

The Pova 8 Pro 5G is also said to include a 6,340mAh battery. That still fits Tecno’s long-running focus on large batteries, but it is a smaller figure than the 8,000mAh unit used in the standard Pova 8.

That contrast makes the Pro version particularly interesting. Tecno appears to be balancing stronger performance, higher resolution and more RAM against a less extreme battery size.

How it compares with the regular Pova 8

The standard Tecno Pova 8 launched in India on June 11 with a starting price of Rs. 29,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. It uses a 6.76-inch IPS Full-HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate.

That panel carries a 1,080 x 2,344 pixel resolution, a 91.29 percent screen-to-body ratio, 381 ppi, and a peak brightness of up to 950 nits. Under the hood, it runs on the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7100.

With the Pro 5G model, Tecno seems to be creating a clearer split inside the same series. The regular phone emphasizes a very large battery and a fast display, while the Pro version is shaping up around higher RAM, a sharper screen resolution and a different chip.

For now, the Pova 8 Pro 5G remains an early listing rather than an officially launched product. Still, its appearance in Google Play Console is enough to show that Tecno is actively preparing the device for release.
