Samsung has begun pushing a June update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 that fills two notable gaps in its early One UI 8.5 release. The update adds Priority Notifications and File Summaries, two AI-powered features that were first introduced with One UI 8.5 on the Galaxy S26 line.
That matters because the Galaxy Z Fold 7 had already received almost all of the promised One UI 8.5 experience. These two additions now make the software package feel more complete, especially for users who expected the foldable to match Samsung’s newest AI direction sooner.
Priority notifications are now easier to sort
Priority Notifications is designed to reduce the clutter of constant alerts. It sorts incoming notifications by category, allowing important messages to surface ahead of promotions or less urgent updates.
According to the details circulating around the rollout, the feature relies on the phone’s built-in Gemini Nano model and is based on Android 16 QPR2. For users who receive a heavy stream of alerts throughout the day, the practical benefit is simple: less manual filtering and less disruption.
File summaries aim at faster document handling
The second addition, File Summaries, is built for productivity. It analyzes PDF files and text documents and then produces short summaries of their content.
That gives users a quicker way to understand what is inside a file without opening and reading every page first. For anyone dealing with many documents at work, the feature can save time when sorting, reviewing, or searching through files.
The June rollout also shows that Samsung is not reserving every new AI capability only for the latest flagship family. At least for some Galaxy AI functions, the company is extending features to premium devices that remain highly relevant in its lineup.
