The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be available legally on Android phones, iPhones, and Smart TVs in Indonesia through official services. TVRI holds the official broadcast rights, while FolaPlay and MaxStream TV serve as digital distribution partners to widen access for viewers.
The tournament will run from Friday, June 12, 2026, until July 19, 2026, with matches staged across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. With 104 matches and 48 participating nations, the scale of the event is expected to drive strong demand across devices.
FolaPlay for Android users
For Android users, FolaPlay is one of the main digital entry points for watching every match. The app is available on the Google Play Store, but it has not yet appeared on the Apple App Store for iPhone users.
Access begins with downloading the app, then registering or logging in using an active email address or mobile number. After signing in, users choose a subscription menu and activate a special 2026 World Cup package before streaming available matches.
FolaPlay offers two paid packages with different benefits. The Bola Gembira 7 Hari package costs Rp25.000 and includes match access, highlights, replays, and micro drama content.
The other option is Bola Gembira Full at Rp85.000. This package provides full access to all 104 matches, along with highlights, replays, and micro drama throughout the tournament.
MaxStream TV as another official option
MaxStream TV from Telkomsel is another official way to watch the 2026 World Cup. The service includes live matches, replays, highlights, and exclusive tournament content.
The MaxStream TV app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for Android and the App Store for iOS. Users need to log in with the same Telkomsel number linked to their MyTelkomsel account so the package can be activated.
After entering the app, viewers can open the Sports menu or the dedicated 2026 World Cup page. From there, a match stream can be selected once the subscription package has been activated.
Purchase of the Bola Gembira package on MaxStream TV is done through the MyTelkomsel app. Unlike other platforms, this package also includes extra internet quota.
MaxStream TV offers two package choices. Bola Gembira 7 Hari is priced at Rp25.000 with 300 MB of internet quota, while Bola Gembira 60 Hari costs Rp85.000 with 5.5 GB of internet quota.
Watching on Smart TV
Viewers who prefer a larger screen can use a Smart TV. The MaxStream TV or FolaPlay app can be installed directly on a Smart TV if the platform is available on the device.
If the app is not available, users can rely on an Android TV Box as an add-on device. Another option is to connect a phone screen to the television through screen mirroring or use Chromecast.
Watching through a Smart TV browser is also possible if the chosen service supports web access. A stable internet connection remains essential for smooth HD playback.
A tournament on a larger scale
The 2026 World Cup is the first edition held simultaneously across three North American countries and 16 host cities. FIFA has also expanded the tournament to 48 teams and a total of 104 matches.
FIFA has set the 2026 edition as the tournament with the largest prize pool in history. The official match ball is named Trionda, while the opening match will take place at Estadio Azteca in Mexico and the final is scheduled for MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the United States.
