Nothing’s Quiet “(b)” Teaser and Review Program Hint at a New Device

Author: Qoo Media

Nothing has set off another round of speculation with a very small clue. A teaser post featuring the word “(b)” and two Pokémon references has led observers to believe the company is preparing a new product reveal.

The timing is notable because Nothing has also opened a Community Review Program for users who want to try devices early and provide feedback. That combination has fueled the expectation that a mystery device may already be close to joining the program.

A teaser built around Pokémon and a single letter

The strongest hint came from Nothing’s post on X, where the company shared Jumpluff and Blastoise before adding the brief “(b)” reference. The move follows a pattern Nothing has used before, often leaning on playful coded clues to generate anticipation ahead of launches.

For watchers of the brand, the letter stands out because Nothing has frequently used “a” in its product naming, including the Nothing Phone 4a and 4a Pro. That has opened the door to the idea that “(b)” could point to a different series or an entirely new direction.

Why the review program matters

The Community Review Program adds a second layer to the speculation. Nothing said the initiative is aimed at people who are genuinely enthusiastic about its devices, especially those interested in technology, design, camera performance, software, and product reviews.

Nothing also said selected reviewers may keep the loaned device after it is sent, while shipping costs are covered by the company. That detail suggests the program is not a casual promotion, but a more serious attempt to bring the community into the product process.

Clues that point beyond a simple marketing tease

Jumpluff appearing both in the teaser post and in the review program discussion has made the connection feel more deliberate. The repeated Pokémon reference has encouraged the idea that the same unnamed product could be linked to the program.

Nothing has not explained what “(b)” means, and it has not confirmed the identity of the device behind the hint. Even so, the overlap between the teaser and the review invitation has been enough to keep attention firmly on the company.

A wider pattern of bold positioning

The teaser also fits the company’s recent tone. CEO Carl Pei recently appeared in a TikTok video and openly took aim at Apple, saying he wants to win over “bored iPhone users.”

Pei also described the iPhone as “repetitive and uninspired,” underlining Nothing’s effort to present itself as a sharper alternative in the smartphone market. At the same time, co-founder Akis Evangelidis said the high cost of RAM means CMF will not release a successor to the CMF Phone 3 Pro, even while promising more to come from CMF this year.

Evangelidis also said consumers should expect “more to come” from Nothing’s flagship line. With that backdrop, the “(b)” teaser and the review program together make sense as part of a broader push to keep attention on what the company plans next.

Nothing has not yet confirmed what the teaser refers to, but the company has clearly left enough clues to keep the discussion moving. For now, one letter and a pair of Pokémon are doing most of the work.
