Moto G Max Combines Rugged Protection, 5,000-Nit Display and 200 MP Camera

Motorola has expanded its midrange lineup in Brazil with the Moto G Max, a phone that stands out for pairing rugged durability with a bright AMOLED display and a 200 MP main camera. The device is aimed at users who want a daily driver built for media, durability, and photography without stepping into premium pricing.

Its strongest selling point is the body protection. Motorola gives the Moto G Max MIL-STD-810H certification alongside IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, which means it is protected against dust and high-pressure water spray.

Display and performance

The Moto G Max uses a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness level of up to 5,000 nits. That combination makes the screen one of the device’s biggest highlights for video, social media, and everyday use.

Inside, Motorola has chosen the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, paired with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The phone runs Hello UI based on Android 16, and Motorola promises two major Android upgrades for the model.

Camera takes the lead

Motorola places a clear emphasis on imaging with the Moto G Max. The rear system is headed by a 200 MP main camera with OIS, supported by an 8 MP ultrawide lens.

For selfies and video calls, the phone includes a 32 MP front camera. The presence of OIS adds practical value, especially for users who care about steadier photos and video capture.

Battery and everyday features

The handset carries a 5,200 mAh battery with 33W charging support. That capacity fits the phone’s large display and high refresh rate, both of which can demand more power during heavy daily use.

Connectivity includes USB 2.0 Type-C, Wi‑Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. Security is handled by an optical under-display fingerprint scanner, keeping the device aligned with the basic expectations of modern midrange phones.

Price and availability in Brazil

The Moto G Max is already on sale in Brazil in a single configuration: 8 GB + 256 GB. Motorola has priced it at 2,519 Brazilian Real.

Buyers can choose between two Pantone color options, Charcoal and Cyan. Sales are being handled through Motorola Brazil’s official store.

The model is also expected to reach international markets under the Moto G87 5G name in the near future. Moto G87 has already launched in Europe in April 2026, and an India launch is expected to follow within weeks.
