Vivo X Fold 6 Raises the Stakes, a 200MP Zeiss Camera and 5,000-Nit Display

Vivo X Fold 6 is shaping up to be one of Vivo’s most ambitious foldable phones yet. Early details and company statements point to a strong focus on flagship imaging, extreme display brightness, and AI-driven productivity.

That positioning matters because the device is being prepared as a book-style foldable flagship for the China market. Vivo is also aiming to make multitasking a central selling point, backed by OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16.

Productivity features take center stage

Vivo Vice President of Product Huang Tao said the new operating system includes the latest version of Atomic Workbench. The feature is designed to let several apps run at the same time within a more flexible screen layout.

Vivo is also preparing an AI Light Office Tool to support work tasks and multitasking on the large display. The direction is clear: this foldable is being built to be more useful for everyday productivity, not just for media consumption.

A camera setup aimed at premium users

Photography appears to be one of the biggest priorities on Vivo X Fold 6. Product Manager Han Boxiao confirmed that the main rear camera uses a 200MP sensor developed through a Blueprint and Samsung collaboration.

The sensor measures 1/1.4 inches and carries an f/1.68 aperture. Vivo also adds Optical Image Stabilization, or OIS, to help improve stills and video stability.

The setup is joined by a 50MP camera with a focal-length range equivalent to 23 mm to 100 mm. For long-distance zoom, Vivo has included a Sony LYT-602 periscope telephoto sensor.

Vivo X Fold 6 also supports the Zeiss G2 teleconverter lens. The accessory was previously introduced with the Vivo X300 Ultra and is meant to expand zoom flexibility.

For image processing, Vivo includes the Blueprint Image Chip V3+, which is designed to improve the phone’s photo and video performance.

The display is built to be unusually bright

The foldable display measures 8.02 inches and uses Samsung M14 luminescent material. Vivo says the panel can reach a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits.

That figure places it among the brightest screens in the foldable phone segment. The panel can also drop to 1 nit when ultra-dark mode is enabled, and TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification is included for longer viewing comfort.

Flagship performance with an AI focus

Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition. Built on a 3nm process, the chipset is a custom version developed for Vivo’s flagship device.

Vivo says the chip delivers an 111 percent improvement in NPU performance compared with the Vivo X Fold 5. That gain is intended to support faster and more efficient AI features.

The standard Dimensity 9500 already powers the X300 series, including the Vivo X300 Ultra and Vivo X300 Pro. That places X Fold 6 as a premium foldable with an especially aggressive hardware package.

Design details and market positioning

On the outside, Vivo X Fold 6 will use a vertical 2.5D metal frame. The only color mentioned so far is Blue Hole.

With a 200MP camera, Zeiss support, an extremely bright foldable display, and a flagship MediaTek chipset, the phone is positioned as a serious rival in the premium foldable segment. Vivo has not yet announced the official launch date or pricing.
