Nothing has revealed the design of the Phone 4b ahead of launch, and the first detail that stands out is not the transparent back itself. The bigger shift is the new Glyph Bar, a smaller lighting element that replaces the segmented Glyph Interface used on other models.
The move signals a clear design pivot for the brand while keeping its familiar industrial identity intact. The Phone 4b still uses a transparent rear panel, visible internal components, and exposed screws, but the new lighting layout makes it look distinctly different from the rest of the Phone 4 lineup.
A more compact light signature
Instead of the larger, segmented lighting system found on other Nothing phones, the Phone 4b uses a compact horizontal Glyph Bar placed near the lower part of the camera module. Nothing says the feature will handle visual notifications, charging indicators, and special alerts from apps.
That change matters because it preserves the idea behind Nothing’s signature light system without repeating the older format. For users, it also creates a new visual identity that separates the Phone 4b from the higher-positioned models in the company’s portfolio.
Design language stays familiar
The Phone 4b appears in a blue finish in official renders shared by Nothing. Its back panel combines the transparent shell with a textured central section, visible screws, and industrial-style accents that continue the company’s recognizable aesthetic.
The device also borrows some elements from the Phone 4a Pro, including a unibody construction that Nothing describes as a smoother design. The result is a phone that looks familiar at first glance, yet carries enough changes to stand apart within the series.
Camera layout and body details
On the rear, the Phone 4b carries two vertically stacked cameras inside an oval module placed at the top left corner. An LED flash and an additional sensor sit beside the camera setup.
The frame looks flat and meets a gently curved rear edge, giving the device a more balanced profile. Nothing also says the Phone 4b has improved structural strength and uses a soft-touch layer to make long-term handling more comfortable.
Where it sits in the lineup
Nothing has already said the Phone 4b will sit below the flagship Phone 4 series in the product hierarchy. That position suggests a more accessible model, but one that still relies heavily on design as a selling point.
The company’s approach fits its wider strategy, where visual identity often does as much work as specifications. With that in mind, the Phone 4b seems aimed at users who want the Nothing look without moving to the top tier of the range.
Early technical clues have also surfaced through Geekbench, where the device appeared under model number A024. The listing points to a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, 8GB of RAM, and Android 16 based on Nothing OS 4 out of the box.
