POCO X8 Pro Yellow Brings Racing Design, Monster Performance in a Bold New Look

POCO Indonesia has pushed its signature yellow identity further with the POCO X8 Pro Yellow, a new variant that leans heavily into design without stepping away from the brand’s performance-first positioning. The device is aimed at users who split their time between gaming, productivity, and entertainment.

At first glance, the most visible change is the new styling direction. POCO uses a Racetrack Aesthetics concept on the back panel, giving the phone a more dynamic look inspired by racing circuits, while the camera area is fitted with customizable Dynamic RGB Light for an added visual accent.

Built to look tougher, not just brighter

Beyond color, POCO has also reinforced the phone’s structure with a metal frame and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the display. The company also gives the device IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, signaling protection against dust, splashes, and high-pressure water exposure under the relevant testing standards.

Novita Krisutami, PR Manager POCO Indonesia, said the yellow color has long been part of POCO’s identity, and the new model is meant to make that identity stand out even more while preserving the brand’s performance focus. That message is reflected in the way the device pairs a louder visual identity with a more rugged build.

Performance remains the main selling point

The hardware package is led by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra, built on a 4-nanometer process. POCO says the chipset can reach an internal AnTuTu score of around 2.2 million, while the GPU is claimed to be up to 25 percent faster than the previous generation.

To keep performance stable under heavy load, the phone combines WildBoost Optimization with a 3D Dual-layer IceLoop cooling system measuring 5,300 mm². The cooling setup is intended to help move heat away from key components, especially during long gaming sessions.

That hardware is supported by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. In practical terms, the combination is designed to speed up app switching, reduce game loading times, and improve large app installations.

Display brightness and battery endurance stand out

On the front, the POCO X8 Pro Yellow carries an AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. Its peak brightness reaches 3,500 nits outdoors, which should make the panel easier to read under direct sunlight.

Power comes from a 6,500 mAh battery using Silicon-Carbon technology. POCO says this approach allows a large battery capacity without significantly increasing the phone’s overall size.

The charging side is equally aggressive, with 100W HyperCharge support. Based on internal testing, the battery can go from 1 percent to full in around 48 minutes.

Camera and software add practical value

Photography is handled by a 50 MP main camera using the Sony IMX882 sensor with OIS. The optical stabilization is meant to reduce shake during photos and video recording, particularly in low light or when the user is moving.

The phone also includes 27W wired reverse charging, allowing it to top up other devices over a cable in urgent situations. That makes the battery package more flexible beyond everyday use.

On the software side, POCO X8 Pro Yellow runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 with HyperAI and Google Gemini integration. One notable addition is Xiaomi Offline Communication, which enables voice communication within a radius of up to one kilometer without relying on cellular service or the internet.

POCO will sell the Yellow variant in Indonesia starting 25 June 2026 through Mi.com and the POCO Official Store on e-commerce platforms including Shopee, Tokopedia, TikTok Shop, Blibli, Lazada, and Akulaku. The new color option expands the lineup for buyers who want a high-performance phone with a more striking appearance.
