Vivo X Fold 6 Heads Global, a Thin Foldable With a 7,000mAh Battery Is Hard to Ignore

Vivo is preparing to take its newest foldable beyond China, and the move gives the X Fold 6 a clear place in the brand’s global lineup. The company has confirmed to Android Authority that the device is coming outside China “soon,” although it has not said which countries will get it first.

The uncertainty matters because Vivo’s foldable strategy has varied by model. Some generations reached India and other international markets quickly, while others needed a longer wait before leaving China.

What is known so far about the launch

Vivo has not shared an official global release schedule for the X Fold 6. There is still no confirmed list of markets, and India has not been confirmed as part of the rollout.

That said, the company’s recent track record suggests a broader push is possible. The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro launched in India and select global markets after its China debut, and the Vivo X Fold 5 later followed a similar path.

In the case of the X Fold 5, the gap between its China launch and wider availability was about one month. The X Fold 3 Pro took roughly three months to arrive outside China, showing that Vivo can move on different timelines depending on the device.

Pricing and colors in China

The X Fold 6 was introduced in China on 26 June, with pricing starting at CNY 7,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. The top configuration, which pairs 16GB RAM with 1TB of storage, is priced at CNY 10,999.

Vivo has also opened pre-orders in China. Buyers there can choose from three color options, which are listed as Blue Hole, Polar Night, and Salt Lake in translated form.

Hardware built to compete at the top end

Performance is led by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super, a 3nm octa-core chipset with a peak clock speed of up to 4.21GHz. That positioning places the X Fold 6 firmly in flagship territory.

The inner display measures 8.02 inches and uses a 2,504 x 2,312 pixel AMOLED panel built with Samsung M14 luminescent material. It also supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which should help with smooth scrolling and multitasking.

On the outside, Vivo uses a 6.51-inch AMOLED cover screen with a 1,120 x 2,528 pixel resolution. The smaller panel is meant to keep the phone practical when folded shut.

Camera duties are handled by a triple rear system tuned with Zeiss, led by a 200MP main sensor. The combination points to a device aimed at users who want a foldable without giving up on imaging hardware.

Battery life is another major talking point. Vivo has equipped the X Fold 6 with a 7,000mAh battery, along with 40W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

Those specifications help explain why the X Fold 6 is drawing attention before its international launch details are finalized. It brings together a large battery, a high-resolution foldable display, a premium camera setup, and the kind of hardware expected from a full flagship book-style foldable.

For now, the only certainty is that Vivo intends to bring the X Fold 6 beyond China in the near future. The exact timing and destination markets will have to wait for the company’s next announcement.
