Nothing has raised prices for the Phone 4a series in India again, and the timing has made the move especially noticeable. The revision comes only days before the Phone 4b series is set to launch on 7 July.
That combination matters because the updated pricing changes how the Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro compare against a likely more affordable successor. For buyers watching Nothing’s midrange lineup, the value gap is now wider than before.
Price increases across the Phone 4a lineup
According to Sanju Choudhary on X, posting as @saaaanjjjuuu, the latest adjustment affects both the standard and Pro models. The biggest jump hits the top-end Phone 4a Pro configuration, which now costs 59,999 rupee.
That 12GB + 256GB variant has moved up from 55,999 rupee, a rise of 4,000 rupee. The change is the sharpest in the refreshed pricing list and pushes the Pro model further away from the base version.
| Device | Previous Price | New Price | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phone 4a (8GB + 128GB) | 37,999 rupee | 39,999 rupee | 2,000 rupee |
| Phone 4a (8GB + 256GB) | 40,999 rupee | 43,999 rupee | 3,000 rupee |
| Phone 4a (12GB + 256GB) | 43,999 rupee | 46,999 rupee | 3,000 rupee |
| Phone 4a Pro (8GB + 256GB) | 52,999 rupee | 54,999 rupee | 2,000 rupee |
| Phone 4a Pro (12GB + 256GB) | 55,999 rupee | 59,999 rupee | 4,000 rupee |
The standard Phone 4a has also become more expensive. Its 8GB + 128GB version is now 39,999 rupee, up from 37,999 rupee, while the 8GB + 256GB model has climbed to 43,999 rupee from 40,999 rupee.
Nothing also raised the 12GB + 256GB Phone 4a from 43,999 rupee to 46,999 rupee. On the Pro side, the 8GB + 256GB version now sells for 54,999 rupee, compared with 52,999 rupee earlier.
Why the timing matters before Phone 4b
The changes land amid ongoing pressure from component costs and a global memory shortage, which continues to affect smartphone pricing more broadly. In that sense, Nothing is not moving in isolation.
Still, the decision arrives at a sensitive moment for the brand. Teasers for the Phone 4b series suggest it will sit below the Phone 4a lineup, which could make it the more attractive option for buyers waiting for a lower entry price.
That creates a more complicated choice for customers who were previously considering the Phone 4a as the main midrange option. With the 4a family now priced higher, patience may become part of the buying strategy.
The next clear comparison point will come after the Phone 4b is introduced on 7 July. Until then, the updated Phone 4a prices have already changed the conversation around Nothing’s midrange lineup.
